when in the future there are 5 or so 1 loss teams, from all the major conferences ... you better bet your sweet arse i don't want to see Oregon vs. USC (insert any other conf) in the BCS. i'd want the SEC rep to get the chance.

and THAT is why you'll "probably" not see LSU/Bama. bama had its chance, and lost.

time to see if the big 12 conf champ or acc conf champ can play ball on the SEC level.

They'd be mistaken. Neutral field. Neutral officiating. Bama didn't get our best shot 11/5. Bama mouthing and dissing the LSU win. If Bama is given the gift of a do-over, that's a-OK. Careful what you wish for though.

I'm not scared of Bama, but it sucks to have to play them again under the current system. Supposedly, the regular season is a de-facto "playoff," with every game being critical. That's what the powers that be tell us, anyway. That's what is supposed to make the regular season matter so much. Having a rematch totally flies in the face of that premise. If we had to rematch Bama in a playoff, so be it. That means that they EARNED their way back to the table.

In the current system, I have always thought that only conference winners should be eligible, because they earned a shot by beating the best of the rest in their leagues. It's how all of the pro leagues work. Conference or division winners get preference, even if their records aren't quite as good. Nobody bitches and whines about that. Also, in a playoff system, rematches aren't a big deal because they again, are EARNED. But in a one-game matchup, it sucks. Bama isn't doing anything to earn this shot. It was handed to them by other teams choking. And yes, the same thing happened with LSU in 2007, but at least that year there wasn't anyone else behind us that was truly deserving, and we hadn't faced OSU in the regular season. And before any bitter Bulldog fans respond, no division championship and no conference championship = not deserving.

The BCS is the system we're all stuck with. I'm not saying it's good. It is what it is. Maybe we will have a playoff one day, but until then, this scenario should never happen again. Win or lose, the conference champion rule needs to be put in place next year to put this issues to bed for good. Again, the regular season is supposed to be the playoff.

All that said- BRING IT ON!!!! GEAUX TIGERS!! ATBDTHRTR!!!

No matter what LSU fans think, I can guarandamntee you that the LSU football team isn't scared of anyone. If you've watched them play this year, and I'm sure you have, you would know that. LSU WILL win its 3rd title in the Dome. Take the points. Straight up. Doesn't matter. Bet it all. Book it now. It's GOING TO HAPPEN!!!
