No doubt about that.
When I was a freshman in the late 2000s, there was no cold beer, the bars closed at 1 AM on Friday and Saturday nights, and there was no beer sales on Sunday (retail or restaurants).

Damn, bro. Do you really believe the shite you're posting, bro?
Bro, did some Ole Miss bro steal yo girl back in the day? That's the vibe I'm picking up, bro.
Four 'bros' in one post? Keep perpetuating that stereotype, douchenozzle.
I'm a guy who lives 30 minutes from Oxford. Grew up an Ole Miss fan before I was smart enough to know better. I've probably spent more time on that campus than you have.
I was fortunate enough to get to visit State and see what decent folks are like and it was an epiphany for me. So for four years, I drove past Oxford on my way to Starkville for school. I'm a better man for it.
I know the "Ole Miss type" well. You can keep trying to gaslight folks here, but most know what's up.

You admonished me to enrich my otherwise meaningless life by learning to perfect a low-country boil. Challenge accepted. But I didn't want to necrobump that other thread, so may I ask: why do some recipes include beer in the water? Is that to adjust the PH in the water so the shrimp shells come off easier? Or just.. adding a little beer flavor

Biggest reason I think Starkville is one of the most underrated game day experiences. Sure it’s a small town and not a ton going on like an Athens type vibe but it’s not bad for a Friday and Saturday night. Good food to be had and plenty of friendly folks.

One is a university, and one is a community college.

Dumbest post yet. Not even close to realify.

There's no beer in LCB. Don't read any recipes that don't come from SC or GA on LCB. In GA you may also see it referred to as "Frogmore Stew".

But there's not pretention and a false sense of superiority either. It's just a lazy stereotype people like to run out.
Dude yall play dress up and eat cold chicken tenders under a popup tent with a fake chandelier in it and pretend it makes yall classier than State fans. If that's not a false sense of superiority then I don't know what is.

Ole Miss is like Texas while state is like A&M without the gay shite

Go to any campus on gameday and most of the fans are wearing the same shirts, pull over jackets, etc.. with different logos and colors

Versus eating hamburgers under a pop up tent? Who gives AF? Unless you're LSU then you're tailgate food isn't a whole lot different.

This is a joke. The whole chandelier thing is a joke. Maybe 5-10 tents out of hundreds have a chandelier.

I've eaten plenty of delicious, hot food on the Grove and I've seen just a handful of chandeliers.
I guess people are going to the wrong tents?

Bro, are you saying there's a stereotype about how frequently Ole Miss people use the word "bro," bro?

Sure I'll bite... Their SEC, you're not... If most of us had our way, Texas and OU would still be blazing the trails for the little 12... So until you actually do something in the conference STFU.
You're still outsiders at this point...

Just call them both Mississippi. They are interchangeable

She's certified geechee so it's not my place to argue with her, but I can tell you that's an awful waste of beer. Also, crab is an addition, not necessarily a main ingredient.

You aren’t far off. Ole Miss is the medical, law school and business school of the state and old money. There are brilliant people there and complete idiots. Most beautiful women at at School anywhere. Average is probably a 7. Very strong Greek system, used to be 7000k Greek out of 10k total. It’s grads run Mississippi, and are among elite everywhere. Fords, Vanderbilts etc.
Miss State is the agriculture school. Very solid engineering school with very close ties to NASA. Good people, easy going good ole boy types.
I think actually the fighting tigers regiment captured a key hill at Gettysburg for a while which was the furtherest point North in Gettysburg.
The university Greys were the furthest point of Pickett’s charge. The charge failed because they didn’t see a old fence line right over a little ridge and as they had to stop and climb over it they were massacred until the whole charge came to a halt. The Greys either cut through it over went around it etc and enough got to hill to raise stars and bars but just like the Fighting Tigers, they didn’t get any reinforcements, (stuck at that damn fence so they were driven back) everyone was killed or wounded.
Of course the PC police have forced the monument to this to be moved off campus or some bullshite.

Those schools aren’t requiring proof of vaccination or a negative test to go to football games. At least I don’t think they are.
