The league went from 6 to 7 conference games in the late 80s. State came to Auburn 3 straight years from 87-89.

when they dropped from 2 cross division permanents to 1 in the early 2000’s

also happened when the conference expanded to 12 in 1992.

happened many, many other times sporadically before that in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s before there was even an attempt at uniformity in conference scheduling.

My guess is Ags will be at LSU again.

They most likely only have 4 home SEC games next year. Arizona State also at home.

And i have no doubt they get Georgia at home.

I have a hunch A&M is coming to CoMo again in 2026. Which is payback for us playing in College Station 67 times between 2010 and 2015.

Doubt it
SEC will split up the LSU and Texas games from being both home or away the same year.
Texas and Mizzou with both be home. They are not going to make them go away two years a row to two schools.

Here is what the schedule would be if you flipped the 2025 schedules.

Texas A&M vs Texas (likely to change - See Texas below)
Texas A&M vs Missouri
Texas A&M vs LSU
One of these games will have to be played on the road again next year.

Texas vs Oklahoma (Dallas)
Texas @ Arkansas
Texas @ Texas A&M (likely to change)
One of Arkansas or Texas A&M will have to play in Austin again next year. Likely A&M because they have to move 1 game.

Arkansas vs LSU
Arkansas vs Texas
Arkansas @ Missouri

Oklahoma vs Texas (Dallas)
Oklahoma @ Ole Miss
Oklahoma @ Missouri
One of Ole Miss or Missouri will have to play in Norman again next year.

Ole Miss @ LSU
Ole Miss vs Oklahoma (might change - See OU above)
Ole Miss vs Miss State

Missouri vs Arkansas
Missouri vs Oklahoma (might change - See OU above)
Missouri @ Texas A&M

Those are 2 repeats right there.

Why do the opponents of Texas, Oklahoma, Florida & Georgia have to be split for home/away.
Because the SEC chose to rotate all 15 opponents over a 2 year period, it's impossible to get at least 4 home games in Austin/Norman/Athens/Gainesville every year if the other 2 opponents are not split.

Georgia vs Florida (Gainesville)
Georgia vs Auburn
Georgia @ South Carolina

Florida vs Georgia (Gainesville)
Florida vs Kentucky
Florida @ South Carolina

South Carolina vs Georgia
South Carolina vs Florida
South Carolina @ Kentucky

Kentucky vs South Carolina
Kentucky @ Florida
Kentucky @ Tennessee

Tennessee vs Alabama
Tennessee vs Kentucky
Tennessee @ Vanderbilt

Vanderbilt vs Tennessee
Vanderbilt @ Auburn
Vanderbilt vs Miss State (could be home or away)

Miss State @ Ole Miss
Miss State vs Alabama (could be home or away)
Miss State vs Vanderbilt (could be home or away)

Alabama vs Auburn
Alabama @ Tennessee
Alabama vs Miss State (could be home or away)

LSU vs Ole Miss
LSU @ Texas A&M
LSU @ Arkansas

Auburn @ Alabama
Auburn vs Vanderbilt
Auburn @ Georgia

----------------------
Summary of Changes

I think Texas A&M will play in Austin again.
One of Ole Miss or Missouri will play in Norman again next year.
Miss State vs Alabama & Vanderbilt (one will be at home, one will be away, but they aren't repeats because they didn't play this year)

I think that is it, unless there are other scheduling issues.

Yes, unless they make Arkansas do it, but if that happens, A&M will still have to change one of their games because all 3 permanent's are on the road this year.

in '01 and '02 we played Kentucky on road both years and Ole Miss at home both years.

in '01-''02 it happened for a few teams because the SEC went from 3 permanent cross-division opponents to 2.
so a few had to be done to make the overall number of home/away to work out.

So help me, if we have to play there next year as well as this year I'm gonna lose it. I wonder what other teams are gonna get fricked by this?

Well, no matter what, there are several teams that will have to play 5 road conference games in 2026 and will inevitably whine about it, regardless of the fact that over time it will all even out.

So yes, some teams are going to get screwed, and there will be a lot of whining.
