What's the matter with you? Are you going to have a heart attack because someone questions the validity of Patrick Peterson's so called dominance?

Deep breaths...

Hype recieved from a national media outlet is not good enough for you, huh? If you think he is not an elite CB, you don't know shite about football. That is the bottom line. Hype or no hype

FIFY

I'm not an lsu fan and I know he is the best cornerback in the SEC and possibly the best in the country. He sure did shut down the SEC's two premier wide receivers, AJ Green and JJ.

Hey Einstein, hype is just that, HYPE. He has not played at a level to justify that hype yet (he has not actually recieved an All American award, he has been listed as a Pre-SEason All American. They are different.)

I think he is a very good football player that has not yet played at an elite level. And I think that your refusal to acknowledge any possibility that he has not played at the level that some of you suggest that he has, is bizarre.

I apologize that I didn't even look at this link, I assumed it was pre-season. The fact that PP was named AA in spite of having only 2 interceptions, and getting burned several times, and having finished behind Haden and Arenas on everyone's All SEc team is just insane. Sort of fricks up the whole "ESPN hates LSU" conspiracy though.

Well then. I will once again point out to you that ESPfrickingN and a shite ton of people in this thread agree that he is not over hyped. Seriously, what fricking dimension do you live in where PP is not considered a good corner? Who are good college corners in your esteemed opinion? I really want to hear them; current college players.

I'll say it again, Patrick Peterson is a good cornerback. He is not, however on level with the best CB's of the decade (which some have claimed).

I have addressed his absurd AA award above.

Without creating an arbitrary list, there were plenty of excellent cover corners who came out of the SEC in the past ten years. But the best hands down in the last decade, give or take a few, was Champ Bailey. Peterson is no where near the same caliber as Champ.

NOLATide,

as previously mentioned by several other posters, you are an idiot. Anyone who says that Peterson doesn't live up to his hype and is overrated is a dumbass. You are really bringing this on yourself. It's okay to admit that an opposing team's player is a great athlete.

You posted PP's name on this list not because you actually feel that he is overrated(because that would probably qualify you as being full-scale mentally handicapped), but because you want to flame and aggrivate people.

He shut down AJ Green AND Julio Jones. Two of the best wideouts in the SEC and Country for that matter. AS A SOPHOMORE..

Now you are just being dense. He is NOT overrated.

I don't hang with people who only always agree with each other and think that anyone who does not agree with them is therefore an idiot. But then again I also read books and have an IQ. I digress.

And yet again let me say: Patrick Peterson is a great athlete. He is a very good football player. He is also, as evidinced in this thread, the recipient of a shite ton of hype.

Sooo..you don't hang out with other Alabama fans or have a TideSports.com account? I disagree strongly.

It would be different if someone else shared your obviously irrational view of PP's abilities(that he is overrated). Sadly, i see no one but you here arguing this.

We have a great athlete, football player, on the great athlete and football player's fanbase message board..how the hell can't you add these variables together to get that the conclusion equals HYPE? Jesus...

During his final year at Georgia as a junior, he registered 52 tackles (four for losses), three interceptions, seven passes defensed, champ

G Int. Yards TD Int./G
13 2 37 1 0.15
Tackles G Solo Assisted Total Total/G
13 43 9 52 4.00
Misc. Defense G Passes Broken Up QB Hurries Fumbles Forced Kicks/Punts Blocked
13 13 0 0 0 peterson

These are from bailey's junior season and peterson's sophomore season. NOLAtide you are digging your own grave. Notice that Peterson had a few less takles and a few more passes defended. What do you make of that?

Absolutely nothing. Comparing a college sophomore to a future NFL HOFer and one of the best to ever play his position just makes you look like a ruhtard.
