McFadden had a disappointing career but it did last 10 years so I'd say a bigger bust was Jamaal Anderson, #8 overall pick in the 2007 draft but never did much of note.
Joe Adams was never the punt returner he was in college either.

I haven’t heard about him in a while, what did he do to gain such a bad reputation?
Essentially neglecting his dogs leading to their death.

I think what people don’t understand is when a lot of people get handed $10,000,000, they lose their drive. They just want to sit on their money and enjoy it. 10 mil is a lot, and first rounders get more than that.
A lot of them just lose their will to play at their highest potential.
In college their lives are structured, and they don’t really have a choice
If rookies had to earn their contracts on the field, i think youd see a lot fewer busts.
Personally, if i had that kinda money, there’s no way id want to play in the nfl, unless maybe if i was a receiver.
Id buy a house on the beach, get a financial advisor, and call it a day

Yep, that definitely warrants pos status...

Rolando McClain. He would be a star in the league if he wasn't a basket case.
My first thought too. I lived in Decatur for 29 years and went to church with Rolando’s HS coach, Jere Adcock. Kid was a train wreck. Really wanted him to make it.

What? He was a pro-bowler and spent TEN years in the league.
I mean, Ronnie Brown was also a pro bowler and spent ten years in the league.
But yeah, Carlos Rogers definitely had the better career and Brown was a disappointment compared to expectations. Brown wasn't much of a factor his last half of his career after he left the Dolphins, Rogers was a quality starter pretty much til the end and was one of the better players on some good 49ers defenses

Don't see Andre Smith being mentioned yet. He was supposed to be a stud.

Gotta say I saw that coming, and I don't just mean that as a rival fan. The games that I saw from him at UT showed that his route running and understanding of the game were already holding back his physical tools. I did think he had (and has somewhat lived up to this) a decent chance as an impact guy in the return game.

He’s still a pretty good return man no?
He’s been a 4 time all pro as a return man and still in the NFL
So I’d say he’s had a pretty solid career, but i guess an all pro return man is not something you want with the 29th pick

He threw a beautiful ball. Had that amazing first 1/2 of a season for Chicago, then flat imploded.

Why? Bo was a 250 hitter

Yeah, I said, "decent chance as an impact guy in the return game." I would say that meets the definition of "impact guy," though that term might be used so often now it is a bit of an understatement for a 4-time All-Pro returner.
It was a UT fan who listed him as a disappointment. I was just trying to say that him failing to become a good or better NFL WR was not unpredictable. He was 194th in receptions and 175th in receiving yards in the NFL last season. He has never been better than 81st (2016) in receptions or 107th (2016) receiving yards. His best season was as a below average 3rd receiving option. You definitely want better than All-Pro returner and below average 3rd receiving option from the 29th pick.

Other Mizzou players that make the list include Martin Rucker, Danario Alexander, and Shane Ray.
Danario is the injury version of Aldon. He flat out produced when he played in the NFL but the dude could never catch a break with his knees. Felt so bad for him.

Darren McFadden, Felix Jones, Matt Jones and Ryan Mallett.

There's definitely people I'd put higher on the list, but since they've already been mentioned, I'll throw in AJ McCarron. I didn't think he was going to be a star or anything, but I thought he'd be an eventual NFL starter. Clipboard Holder is a pretty sweet gig though.

Vick Ballard.
He got the injury bug though and RBs are a dime a dozen

It's very hard to call Ronnie a bust. He was never really elite but he was solid and with a long career as a back. Anyone who stays in the league for that long I cant really call a bust.
Caddy literally won rookie of the year and then had career ending injuries. Not a bust at all just forced to cut it short.
Campbell as well spent quite a few years in the league as a starter. I would not call that a bust especially as he was not hyped up near as much as players like Jamarcus.
I think some posters on this board just have a different definition as bust or not

He and Tyler Bray were the perfect storm of all world talent and nothing between the ears(David Ricky Rodgers is included in this as well). Neither of them ever really understood the offense. You could watch the games and see that CP had zero clue what routes to run, and Bray maybe got through 2 of his reads. At that point he knew that CP had just gone deep so he'd throw a bomb. There's a reason both of them ride the bench(or don't dress out in Bray's case) when the offense is on the field. CP was and still is pretty electric in the return game though as his 4 All Pro's show.
