He wasn’t surprising, IMO.

A lot like Ricardo Louis, simply an athletic freak that didn’t know how to run routes or catch the ball.

I agree with Aldon, especially how dominant he was early on and off the field issues took over his life. He was Von Miller/Khalil Mack level his 2nd year in the league.

Tbf it wasn't because of ability. He was pretty damn good for a short time.

Cadillac Williams, Ronnie Brown, and Jason Campbell.

Injuries and not being in a favorable position for each of them led to the lack of success. All three have great character and great work ethic, it’s just sometimes not a good fit by the team that drafts you.

Go ahead and add carlos rogers to that list as well. I thought he was going to be awesome. For Tennessee i would say Robert Meachem.

also Luke Joeckel. He hasn't done much for the #2 pick in the draft

Unarguably the biggest bust in NFL history

I have to disagree.

He was a great college QB and one of LSU’s best.

He was drafted #1 overall and Oakland paid him a truckload of money.

That was on the Raiders organization. He could barely speak English and was stupider than wood.

A starting NFL QB requires more than being able to through the ball 80 yards when on your knees.

I’m happy he made bank.

Jamarcus Russell should have an asterisk next to his name on "bust" lists. I know very few people who actually viewed him as the best player in the country that year. The reason he was picked #1 was more of a perfect storm of a QB needy Raiders team with the #1 pick, and Jamarcus having a cannon arm that infatuated Al Davis. Going into that draft almost everyone besides Al Davis saw Russell as more of a project with huge upside but a lot of accuracy, awareness, and maturity flaws. He was really more of a late first or early 2nd rounder that was drafted way too high because Al Davis naively envisioned the Raiders throwing 70 yard bombs all over the place with Russell. No one was actually shocked at how poorly Russell played.

I consider guys like Trent Richardson or even Chance Warmack as much bigger busts because they were viewed as plug and play, cant miss, immediate starters with no flaws in their game.

I didn't expect Dee Milliner to be a world beater, but I expected him to at least be a solid contributor. I think he stayed injured and just faded out.

and whoever said Carlos Rodgers needs to do some googling.
