Just called and got $35 off each month for the next 12 months, NFL Sunday ticket for free and $50 off this months bill to stay with them. Crossing my fingers they announce soon.

When you call Direct TV are you immediately asking for the cancellation department? What did you say to get the $35 discount, free NFL ticket, etc...

I asked to cancel and they transferred me and asked why I was gonna switch. I explained that Dish was offering a good deal and also had the SECN. He then offered me that deal and an upgrade to the Genie system.

Hmmm, I just called and they offered me the Sunday NFL ticket and $20 off my bill for a year with a one-year commitment. I said I'd think about it overnight. Is that a good deal?

ETA: I asked if DTV would ever get the SECN and the operator said they hoped to have it by next season. That's why they're offering the one-year deals.

Depends if they announce tomorrow.

I figure y'all who have it have a seemingly shrinking window to get these comps. Even if you will keep it without having the network, strike while you can and get the most for your saber rattling.

I was happy with 30 because it's for my moms directv account and she didn't even know what the secn was, I just told her we had leverage and needed to use it before they announced it.

Unless they lock in enough of these people getting discounts into a contract that they decide to not carry the SEC network. That would be fuuuuuuuuucked!

I hate all of you who are getting these huge discounts so much. It's hit or miss whether they hook you up or not

I haven't yet but I'll call tomorrow. Plus, they want to compensate us for not having the SOUTH eastern conference network. Discounts do not apply to Yankees j/k

Just called and was offered $50 off the NFL Sunday Ticket and $15 off my bill... FML? Told them I had to think about it.

I have a year left on my contract so I'm guessing that what they are banking on me not wanting to pay $260 to cancel.

I have every channel they offer and NFL Sunday Ticket. I would think they would offer something more to keep a customer who buys everything they supply?

Everything they offer is too dependent. You should lower your tier plan and then call back to cancel a few days later. Experiment with them, tell them you're having money issues and need to lower your expense so you're changing packages

I'm starting to think the rumors are real, that DTV will be picking up the SECN soon. My feeling is based on the skimpy offers they're making to keep us.

I think I'll switch to Dish based on what they, DTV, offered me. Dish is giving me HD and the Hopper free and it'll cost less even with DTV's discount.

Wish I had bad credit. Buyout wouldn't factor in then. They would think damn he's not gonna pay it anyways
