He won't be able to name anything. Minnesota won't be that good next season.
Fleck can probably get the USC job after next season if he wants it, though.

I just don’t see Fleck leaving Minnesota for Tennessee in its current condition. He’s probably leveraging them for a raise.

That would be an A+ hire given the circumstances. I doubt any coach with options like Fleck is going to Knoxville to await the heavy sanctions. You have to think AU probably reached out to every up and comer and was turned downed and they aren't facing sanctions.

They won’t have to be. They finished 11-2 in 2019 and were ranked in the Top 10 to finish the year. They hadn’t finished the season ranked since 2003, and have done it only 3 times since 1967.

Full disclosure, the only Minnesota game I watched was when they players Maryland. But it was a real wing-banger. Taulia runs over, around, and through a defense that wouldn't hold up 5 minutes against the better SEC offenses. The fact that Maryland was running wild should give pause.

One thing I have learned about the VOLS fanbase is that outside of a select few unrealistic names (Meyer, Freeze), NO hire is going to please everyone in the fanbase. In our current situation, VOLS need to be reasonable about who would actually take over in this mess and support whoever steps up to that challenge. Elliott, Leipold, Fleck ... I would be happy with any of them. I personally hope we get Napier. Our previous AD would hire Adam Gase.

I can tell you with absolute certainty he would take a pay cut to come to Knoxville. But the interest isn’t there on the UTAD side.
