He is a yankee guy and always will be. NOt sure his schtick will fly in the south. Has Minn even played anyone at this point. Beat someone with a pulse first. I know when NS retires I would not want him and his row the boat crap anywhere down in titletown

Yeah, I really like that guy. He is one hell of a coach. Won everywhere he's been.

frick you, go look at my prior posts I have been saying for at least 3 weeks that someone in the SEC should hire this guy and doesn’t matter where he is from and his recruiting base is. This guy is a flat out WINNER! And he will turn any program he goes to into a winning and championship program

Still, at 8-4, he's staying or 9-3
I agree they will give him one more year with Bo Pix and if y’all don’t go at least 10-2 next year AMF

Why would he leave for a school that fired
3 coaches that went undefeated and another
who played for a NC?
He's a Midwestern guy as well and probably
eyeing the Michigan job.

Why would any coach go to thUGA? They fired a coach that averaged 10 wins a year?

Listen I'm not a Gus advocate but it's not that simple of a call.
Gus, for his faults, has a high floor. He's shown no evidence of being the type of guy who will preside over a program collapse. He usually wins games he should win, minimizes off-field issues and can get a team hot for a 5 game stretch or a season every now and then.
Do I think we can easily find a guy to go 8-4 at Auburn? Yes. Do I think it's necessarily easy to find a guy who can do it very consistently, including with a top 5 schedule over several years, without having major down years or burning out? Not so sure.
I'm not one of these AU fans who says we can't move on from Gus because we don't want to be Tennessee, but it is a consideration. There aren't a lot of sure bets and we're confronted with the reality of spending a shite ton of money to get rid of a low-risk, competent HC and roll the dice elsewhere.
Gun to my head, I'm probably rolling the dice if this is another 8-4 season. But it's not that easy of a call.
Best explanation of how I feel. Thank you for finding the words.

CMR also didn't win a SECC for TEN years and never went undefeated. Hell,he woulda been gone after '08 at Auburn.
It would be suicidal for him to take the AU job.

Gus has never gone undefeated either. Hell, he’s never had a season with less than 2 losses. And he hasn’t won an SECC in 7 years.

Three pages into a thread about firing The $49 Million Man and the Barner still has UGA on his mind.

A whole 3 weeks, wow 3 fricking weeks. Some of us like myself and DS have been pumping him for 4-5 years. GTFO with your whole 3 weeks.
But laughable to think fleck would go-to Auburn. Even more laughable that mstate and arky think they could get him. If you knew anything about PJ you would know that's not happening.
3 fricking weeks

Has anyone pointed out that PJ Fleck hasn’t beaten anyone as good as a 6A high school team yet? Go ahead and crown his arse if you want, but I'm not sold yet.

After they pay off Gus, they won't be able afford Fleck. Maybe they can replace Gus with the football operations building's janitor. Give him like a 35 cent raise per hour. That'll probably make him happy.

haha 26 million fricking dollar buyout for gus malzahn. Gus Malzahn. Godspeed auburn, couldn't happen to a nicer program.

All I know is the Auburn people better be very careful and make the right hire. Cause they could very easily become the next Tennesee or Arkansas if they aren't. Just saying. As Auburn is kind of in the middle of nowhere.
