Pat Dye and Bear



Despite being rivals, those two men had a close relationship.

Favorite Bear/Dye story is before the ‘82 IB, Bear’s last….Dye and Bear walked out to mid field and Dye told him “before you go hugging on me, you ought to know that my boys are fixing to get after ya’lls arse”.
And they did.

I miss Coach Dye. I enjoyed listening to him on finebaum and other bham shows….

They don’t make them like that anymore. Bear and Dye were two of the greatest to ever do it.
