Shug and Bear
Pat Dye and Bear
Despite being rivals, those two men had a close relationship.
Favorite Bear/Dye story is before the ‘82 IB, Bear’s last….Dye and Bear walked out to mid field and Dye told him “before you go hugging on me, you ought to know that my boys are fixing to get after ya’lls arse”.
And they did.

They don’t make them like that anymore. Bear and Dye were two of the greatest to ever do it.

If this was from 1979, it was my first SEC football game.

That is one ugly arse pullover. At some point was there a meeting at Russell athletic where they gathered and said, is the logo maybe too big? ??

Was the bane of my early 90s but always had a lot of respect for RC Slocum
