Peyton is lacking...Brees, etc are not.

Come on, Peyton didn't look any worse than Brees did against the same team.

As a matter of fact, I kept thinking how similar last night's game was to the two Saints v Seahawks games.

Bingo.

Peyton has choked over and over and over again in the post-season, when championships are on the line.

The reputation he has for doing so did not just arise out of nowhere.

The discrepancy between his regular season performances and his post-seson performances is stunning.

Yeah, he won one Super Bowl, but for a quarterback of his stature, that is not very impressive, all other things considered.

Marino and Jim Kelly are both incredible quarterbacks and they have zero SBs. Using that measurable Trent Dilfer is more clutch than either of them. This argument is stupid.

Bad weather helped the colts win the super bowl over the bears.

It didn't help anybody. I was there in Miami and if wasn't the SB I would've left. Horrible weather.

At the end of the day is just boils down to Eli being a winner and Peyton not. I'd rather have 10 on my team than 18.

I think it's cute that Ole Miss fans try to argue that they have a claim to the better Manning. Reminds you of their position in the SEC.

Eli Manning's career 4th quarter QB rating is 81.8, which ranks him 18th among current NFL QBs who have played at least one full season (16 starts). It ranks below such greats as Kyle Orton, Rex Grossman and Alex Smith.

The myth that Eli is especially "clutch" is just that, a myth. Only three current NFL starters have more career 4th quarter INTs, and all three have been playing longer. Eli also has the most INTs returned for TDs since 2005.

Peyton is the greatest technical quarterback of all time. But when the pressure mounts in the postseason, he usually crumbles. That's the way it is.

You're an idiot. Peyton didnt crumble last night, his team did. Should he have been out there to make a tackle on the kickoff return? Did he play his best game, no, but he also had no O line. I guess there was no pressure in the AFC championship game vs New England right?

I think what was lacking was Offensive line pass blocking

This

The "so and so is more clutch than so and so" argument is a watered down version of sports discussion not fit for fans who actually understand the game on a deep level. Saying a guy is more clutch than another guy is code for "I don't really understand what I'm talking about but I heard it on ESPN".

Well, one thing is for certain. They both will be Hall of Famers, whereas Tim Tebow will be forgotten...although we Ole Miss fans will always remember Tebow's own "choke job" against us

Not really the point. The point is how Eli performs in the post-season vs. how Peyton performs in the off-season.

And anybody who is paying attention can see the difference.

We'll never forget that "choke job" either. It was followed by a promise and a national championship. You can google what the tropy looks like since you are more likely to see Bigfoot in Oxford.

When Eli is in Canton, you can post that on your resume since it will mean so much to you personally.

Relying purely on stats and numbers, and not counting the intangibles of what makes a great player great, is for nerds who never played the game
