Regardless of your knowledge it was a mistake to fire Baker in the first place. Kudos to Kelly for correcting the mistake!

I was wrong? I didn't indicate WHY he left LSU, but it is a fact he left. It's also a fact that he will leave again. Maybe he'll be fired. Maybe he'll take a HC position. Maybe he'll quit coaching to teach English in a school in Kenya? Doesn't matter...someday...maybe not today , maybe not tomorrow...he will once again leave LSU.

In the future, possibly near, he'll leave LSU again.

I mean, sooner or later, we all leave our jobs because nothing above ground is forever so uh yeah sure.

And good luck to LSU...despite a few juveniles who post here, it's a good school & program with great fans!

I'm not a Kansas fan so Mizzou doesn't move the needle for me one way or the other. You're Midwestern. My parents were multi-generational Midwestern Yankees. LSU has hired a few Yankees over the years, including 2 of the last 3 head coaches. What I'm saying is, sure you're weird Yankees but that doesn't really phase me. Embrace it.

Baw, several of our defensive starters took shots at Matt House on Twitter as he was shown the door. Not sure what Baker is going to be able to do, but damn our defensive unit had gotten toxic. Glad to have him on board.

He was not retained by LSU. He did not just leave so to say he will leave LSU again is stupid. Nice try tho. Desperate.

You got one thing wrong. Baker never “left” LSU. He wasn’t retained by the new staff.

The average DC works for Kelly probably around 2.5 years or so. He averaged close to one per year his last 4 years at ND.

Your last DC lasted two years. The one before him lasted one. The one before him lasted one.

He didn’t leave l new DC was LB coach same as Baker. So House didn’t keep. At time I thought House made a mistake. Karma!

This post is awkward. If you type it all in caps a second time, then we’ll for sure know I’m melting.

The only thing at stake in this situation is school pride. Nothing else. We don’t like losing a coach to another SEC school because it’s a kick in the nuts. Otherwise it is inconsequential.

LSU got better yesterday. Missouri most likely got worse. Agree it’s inconsequential for Missouri. That’s why he left.

Sounds like you are. Hell you must be a new Mizz fan. Older Mizz fans are used to getting beat.

I took this at face value when you and others posted it but I don't think that's quite right. Baker was co-DC at LSU and was DC under Manny Diaz at La Tech and Miami. So it's not like he had no experience as DC at the point Kelly went a new direction or even when Mizzou hired him.

It would be far more accurate to say (as others have) that Kelly did as many new coaches (and senior leaders in politics, workplace, etc) do and went a new direction with their people. It was a regime change. You expect changes. I doubt Baker thought much of it because it's just expected when a new HC is brought in. Thus no bad blood.

Besides, looks like Woody was working that angle when LSU played in CoMo in October.

Look at the big damn bear hug he gave Baker followed by plenty of reassuring pats on the shoulder:

Baker and Woody look like dey baws for life.

I’m plenty old. I was standing on the sidelines waiting to rush the field on the 5th down. I’ve seen a lot. What counts as a melt on the Rant is usually just posting something that another poster disagrees with.
