think VaTech might be a better match for A&M since they are the only two SMCs in FBS.
Yah, if that's what you go by...From a purely geographical standpoint. There are A LOT of UT and Va Tech fans living in the same area.

I see no benefit from this.
Do not want.

Ironic that Aggies think its great to not have the uta rivalry anymore.
I usually enjoyed watching that game.
dont get me wrong, I wish that game was still on and think it really sucks its gone but as long as DeLoss Dodds is the AD at Texas they are going to refuse to play us. Ditto for Baylor and Texas Tech. They are not going to risk pissing off Daddy DeLoss. If we weren't playing a Texas school I really wouldn't see the point.

The nation's toughest schedule kept us from bowling in 2009...
I could see why the premiere players in the conference could want marquee ooc games, and I support them in doing so, no doubt! Hope Bama hangs 60 on a Michigan team that turns around and wins the B1G.
We are not even remotely a premiere player just yet. We're more concerned with taking the Leach/TexasTech approach to building a program= easy ooc + bowl streak. Leach didn't play in the SEC west either...

When was the last time a big 12 team beat an SEC team? The last 5 years have been domination. The ACC is the better choice.
We could even do and SEC/ACC deal in basketball and baseball as well.

There really isn't much of one except for some good football games to watch.
I'd Love to see Bama/Texas Okla/LSU ect.

I wasn't even going to say it cause I didn't want it to get off subject.

Hey I'm talking the past here. Besides we are the anomaly not the norm in the SEC because we are going to suck balls.

You do not know that for sure. Gotta give Mr. Freeze a chance.

Trust me. We are going to be really bad again.

Yeah y'all are going to get killed but Texas was mediocre last year, and just plain bad the year before. They have all the talent in the world, but they've managed to do nothing with it since colt left.

Also, could we use the SEC having either the ACC or Big-12 on their schedule every year for more TV $$.
Think about it, a lot of people would tune in for the bigger names of the conferences playing. I think we would see more money off a Big-12 deal just because of the big names that could be matched up.
Texas, Oklahoma, Bama, LSU, the list goes on.
ETA: Not thinking about just football, Kansas Kentucky B-Ball every year would be pretty great to watch.

Won't happen. Alabama and Auburn don't want to have permanent OOC opponents that may actually be good.
WTF? Bama opens against Michigan and Auburn opens against Clemson. LSU plays Washington.

You missed the reference. It was a knock at the second and third tier "rivalry" permanent opponents in the SEC I believe.
ETA: I'm not agreeing with him on the jab, even though I disagree with the constants in our conference, but that's what he was saying I think.

I would have used to think that locking yourself into one conference would be a bad idea for football, but we see so few big name teams playing each other any more, I think it's a good idea.
I think the SEC/Big 12 might be a good idea.

No league would willingly agree to get annually assraped.

When Bama scheduled the home & home with Penn State,Mike Shula was the coach. Penn State had just won The Orange Bowl to finish # 3 @11-1
After the home & home with PSU, Bama puts Michigan on the slate
The comments that Alabama would be fearful to play anyone good is stupid
The prevailing opinion at Penn State is one of sorrow now that the home & home with Bama is over.
The oppurtunity to see with your team has over a cross country powerhouse is much cooler than the guaranteed victory over The Scranton School of Sewing
