You big bad LSU alum you, stupid argument will always be stupid.

I'm an alum of UA and I don't have a problem with the so-called "sidewalk" fans. Not everyone in America has an opportunity to go to a state school, let alone college. Just because they didn't graduate from the University of Alabama doesn't make them any less of a fan than me or anyone else who attended UA.

Percentage of Alabama fans who have no affiliation with the University
I have a childhood friend that went to Virginia for undergrad and got his MBA at Vanderbilt and could care less about either as he's a big Alabama fan. Sadly, I now have to inform him that he's a laughingstock on the SEC Rant because he's a dirty sidewalk Bammer and wouldn't be cool enough to hang out with all the sophisticated USCe, LSU, and Auburn alums here making fun of him.
And of course, """""""NONE""""""" of the classy Little Lord Fauntleroy Alabama fans are throwing insults back in this thread......

Yeah it's one of the dumbest most ignorant arguments alums like to throw out on this site. Think how much revenue "sidewalk" fans bring in to the universities. Newsflash people, just because you didn't go to the university doesn't mean you're some poor shite who can't support his family. SHOCKER I KNOW.

Let's see - this site has become nothing more than rants done by morons. Very demeaning and holier than though. Thus the reason I really don't come here (much less post here) as much as I used to.
On that note, I have two degrees (BA & M.Ed.) from UAB. When I went to school for my undergraduate degree, there was no football team, thus I kept rooting for who my parents rooted for - Alabama. I grew to love the team because my parents loved the team. I still recall listening to the radio with them every Saturday and rooting on their heroes - coaches and players alike.
My parents never went to Alabama - not even sure if they stepped on the campus. My father went to a Military Academy and my Mother married young and, God bless her, never had the chance to go to school (her family was very poor) and was left to raise us kids as my father was away and eventually died in service. Those happy memories, gathered around a radio, I lovingly cherish today - and if that makes my parent's "sidewalk" fans - well, I guess they were guilty as well.
So, you can take your ignorant and classless thread and shove it up your arse.

Lot of mad "Alabama fans" in this thread.

Typical response from an LSU fan, did it take you 9 pages to think of that?

Um post this same thread on the Tiger Rant you'll get the same number of pages and arguments from LSU fans.
ETA: Almost everybody in Louisiana loves LSU unless they went to Grambling or Southern.

First of all, from what I saw in Columbia, SC(lite) has some pretty obnoxious fans. I bet you do not, however, see people wearing SC(lite) gear all over the world as I have. Case n point, Morocco last Sunday. Saw a guy in a Bama shirt and gave him a thumbs up. He responded with a heavily accented "Roll Tide." since you have no winning tradition you do not find fans all over the world.

didnt Warren St. John's book Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer touch on fan psychology and the association of who one cheers for being based on a variety of factors?
The book had some purty pictars so I liked it.

I saw the same thing. I was in a store in Rock Springs, Wyoming and saw a guy decked out in Bama gear.

I'd say a good 95% from personal experience. Between my time living in New Orleans and Mobile, AL, I've met TONS of Alabama fans. Of course, none of them nor their immediate family members have any affiliation with the University. As a matter of fact, I don't know if 10% of the people I've met in Mobile have even gone to ANY type of college/university.
Another question, why are they so annoying/obnoxious? I can't go anywhere around here without hearing some drunk Gumptard yell ROLL TIDE!
I'd be embarrassed if I were an Alabama alum and would be pissed off about this too :EndOfRant:
I didn't read past the first post, but I'm going to answer this simply, so that you won't have to pay attention to all the other pages on here.
If I didn't go to an SEC school, and I live in the South, and especially in Al, why the frick would I cheer for anyone else?
See how simple it really is?

I'm a fan of football in general, CFB just so happens to be the best brand IMO. Therefore I'll cheer for the team I've been a fan of since I can remember, DWI. This is for the OP.

The original poster is correct... I would say less than 8% actual can say they have graduated from UAT... The gumptard sidewalkers are strong in number only when the tahd is on a roll. The Shula years were a glorious time to live in Alabamistan!
Our fanbase must be the size of Texas and Notre Dame's combined.

The guy was just kidding with him about being an Arkansas fan and he had to make fun of the dude for not being able to go to college.
The 18-24 demographic is a very very spoiled generation who go to college because it is easy to get in and they either have rich parents or there are loans/grants galore available to everyone. 30 years ago most people didn't have the opportunity to go to college and had to start a career at 16 or 18. I think it is really shitty to act like people without college degrees are somehow subpar fans or citizens, especially from the older generations.
I agree with this but Dante Phillips doesn't.

The University of Alabama’s enrolment as of 2004 was over 20,000 students and growing. The university has been in the business of teaching the youth of Alabama and surrounding states since 1820.
Given this and the percentage of people who enjoy watching the football team play that have an affiliation is only 5% good god. Do you know what this means we have a larger fan base than any team in any sport, we win!
The Tide wins again bring on the T-shirts

I guess they are not allowed to cheer for a college football team. Just suppose to cheer for High School and Pro teams.
Hmmm I didn't go to Joplin or Webb City High School here in Missouri. I guess I'm not allowed to support the teams that support our local communities in this area.
