In my view this is down to LSU and Ole Miss so I’m not sure why UF fans are celebrating.
I think this sucks a lot for ole Miss fans. Going into a game against a bitter rival, playoff, and who knows what else with your coach potentially going to another rival.
Even though LSU stands to benefit, I can’t say I particularly like it.

I personally felt that this was the least Lane could do is stick around long enough to beat their in state rival and get them into the Final 12.

Kiffin's deal was discussed in the Board of Supervisors meeting and the Kiffins have been looking at real estate in the Baton Rouge area. I can tell you the SEC Network crew in Baton Rouge for tomorrow's WKU-LSU game all believe Kiffin is LSU's coach. The number on the deal is somewhere between $14-15 million per year.

This is real risk on Ole Miss' part. Incredible risk. A loss to MSU on Friday, followed by Kiffin's departure for a bitter rival the next day, is deadly to CFP chances. They have to know that.
And if you're saying an announcement is coming on a given day, you already know the announcement.

I celebrate it because even if Lane picks LSU, it is carmel for Ole Miss throwing a hissy fit and stealing the 2024 Gator Bowl from UF

Carter might be the very best AD in the country. What he’s dealing with is unprecedented. No Coach in SEC history has left a ten win a year SEC job for another SEC job.
