Hey enjoy your coach that is currently 7th in the b10. Good get!

No chance you’ll be looking for another in 3/4 years ;)

OM 247 mod says unless everyone is wrong, Kiffin is going to LSU.

Its over.

Not even trolling, but that just sounds desperate and weak.

Would have been better to not say anything at all.

Seems to me that if was going to stay they'd announce that now, not after the game Saturday

In my view this is down to LSU and Ole Miss so I’m not sure why UF fans are celebrating.

I think this sucks a lot for ole Miss fans. Going into a game against a bitter rival, playoff, and who knows what else with your coach potentially going to another rival.

Even though LSU stands to benefit, I can’t say I particularly like it.

I personally felt that this was the least Lane could do is stick around long enough to beat their in state rival and get them into the Final 12.

After that it’s a business decision.

Wouldn't surprise me if Ole Miss wound up losing the Egg Bowl now.

Remember how checked out Kiffin was after he took the FAU job while still the OC at Bama? It was so bad that Saban had to fire his arse before the NC!

Statement from OM 247 Mod:

quote:

I'm stunned. I really didn't think Door No. 3 was a serious option.

My guess is Kiffin said he hasn't made a decision and Ole Miss feels it doesn't have the goods to legally suspend him.

Unless damn near everyone is lying, he's going to be LSU's next coach and will be in Baton Rouge at some point next wekeend. I know a lot more there than I can report. Kiffin's deal was discussed in the Board of Supervisors meeting and the Kiffins have been looking at real estate in the Baton Rouge area. There's more, but I need to protect sources who have been nothing but good to me.

I can tell you the SEC Network crew in Baton Rouge for tomorrow's WKU-LSU game all believe Kiffin is LSU's coach. The number on the deal is somewhere between $14-15 million per year.

Logic tells you that if Kiffin were even thinking of staying, the last week wouldn't have happened. And I'm so sick of "Well, Lane's differfent..." Shut up. That's stupid. Occam's Razor is a real thing.

Might he stay? I mean, I guess, but the damage that's been done is real.

This is real risk on Ole Miss' part. Incredible risk. A loss to MSU on Friday, followed by Kiffin's departure for a bitter rival the next day, is deadly to CFP chances. They have to know that.

And if you're saying an announcement is coming on a given day, you already know the announcement.

If I'm right, a guy who is going to be LSU's next coach is going to coach Ole Miss' biggest regular season game with a spot in the CFP on the line. Incredible."

Looks like LSU pulled it off and OM is trying to keeo their season above water.

I celebrate it because even if Lane picks LSU, it is carmel for Ole Miss throwing a hissy fit and stealing the 2024 Gator Bowl from UF

Carter might be the very best AD in the country. What he’s dealing with is unprecedented. No Coach in SEC history has left a ten win a year SEC job for another SEC job.
