They hired a guy who didn't try to overthink things or someone who thinks they're some football guru. They got a guy who looked at it the way your average guy would and it works. Gets good coordinators gets a transfer if he sees hes good and just makes common sense decisions. Football isn't rocket science but i think sometimes when people are looking for a coach they think they have to find some qb whisperer or some shite and that's how you end up with a Chad morris or Tom herman or pj fleck. People need to go after your more down to earth coaches

I'm gonna need to see more from the offense before I agree with this.

Now Alleva is some shining example of a good decision maker on the rant? What happened?

I actually really like ensminger because hes a common sense coordinator too. If its 3rd and 1 why not run a qb sneak or iso play everytime? I mean get the first down then keep rolling down the field. Dont overthink it and try to get cute that's what I like about O

O’s Best move was doing whatever it took to keep Aranda. Hopefully he will do the same for a good offensive coordinator because what he has now isn’t going to cut it.

Ensminger is 10x better than Canada. I know I'd sure as hell take him over this clown calling plays for Arkansas

you mean you could just go get a guy who's gonna become the greatest coach in college football history? Let me guess you could also just go recruit a guy like cam newton or Tim tebow and that would help you win too. fricking moron.

Considering there May be four or five elite coaches the entire hiring process is a crapshoot. I still remember the melt from some quarters when LSU hired Nick Saban . Where Aleeva failed, is that he did not conduct a truly professional coaching search. But hiring Orgeron, given the precise circumstances , had a very understandable logic to it. But the process made it feel like a stopgap measure, and that is Aleeva’s fault.

I just hope dave aranda and his family enjoy LSU as much as they say.

I'm still not happy about ensminger, but LSU will be fine as long as dave aranda is around

Fit matters. O has done a good job so far roster management,in game management minus the fake punt attempt, motivating his team. He may not be a championship coach but who knows maybe he can win one. The HC doesn’t have to be some XnO genius like Herman or Gus. Hire the right guys and recruit well. Go get transfers if ya got holes etc. He wasn’t gonna let Alleva faaaak up and let Aranda walk, he hired a ST’s guru and went and got a great kicker and good qb. He deserves some credit

I said from day one that if the plan with O was to have a decent and affordable placeholder until Saban retires it’s a genius move.

We will see how it plays out.
