My prayers to her family and thanks UT for producing such a wonderful woman and person, she was as strong a competitor as ever was and while I hated when she beat us (a lot) she was always a class act.

RIP

quote:

In the process, those players collaborated on 1,098 victories, measured in 36 consecutive seasons of 20 or more and 20 seasons of 30-plus victories.
Twenty-two of the seasons reached a Final Four (4 AIAW, 18 NCAA) and eight ended in celebration with a national championship starting in 1987 and stretching out over three decades to 2008.
Twenty-one Lady Vols earned All-America honors. Multiple selections brought the final total to 36. They also had a hand in 32 SEC championships, split evenly between regular-season and tournament titles.

When Summitt announced April 18, 2012, that she was stepping down after 38 seasons to become a head coach emeritus, Tennessee athletic director Dave Hart said that he has surveyed Summitt's resume countless times and always come to the same conclusion. "You think to yourself: somebody is making this up," he said.

Pat's legacy transcends sports. She has impacted many for the better and made the world around her more opportunistic for all. RIP Pat.

So sad. So shocking that this happened so quickly.

If you ever have the chance, read some of her books. Very inspirational.

A role model for upcoming coaches everywhere. Then entire SEC will miss you and thanks you for what you did for women's basketball nationwide. The sport isn't nearly what it is today without you leading the charge all of those years.

RIP at home on Rocky Top

I lost one grandmother to the disease and have a second battling the middle stages of it right now. I painfully agree with you. My grandmother today isn't the same person I knew and loved all of those years. Just a hollow shell. My first grandmother lost a battle with lung cancer before it got so bad.

Yep RIP, gave me flash backs of my mother in law when I heard the news this morning. I watched her fade away for 11 years due to this one fricked up disease She was so full of life and withered away to just a shell of a body. God speed!!
