My absolute biggest fear.
But she's out of the woods now. Rest easy, coach.

Few people in life change the world. Pat did

I am a Bama fan and a long time lurker on this board. All the local news outlets here in the tri-state (NY, NJ and CT) area did good pieces on Pat. What a great coach! Only the good die young.

As a father of 4 daughters, few understand the of how hard it is for women to get equal pay and opportunities as I do. I suggest reading about Elizabeth Cady Stanton and other pioneers.

So sad, and so relatively young for Alzheimer's. It is truly a terrible, terrible disease.
Prayers to the family and close friends.

As much as we still revere what Neyland meant to our football program, it's even moreso when you think about women's basketball and Pat. She was our Bear, our Wooden. I'm honored to have met her.

RIP Pat. We have lost such an amazing person and one of the best basketball minds of all time

She's gone and the loss hurts beyond basketball. She was a true Tennessean. She was the best of us human-wise.
I'm numb, depressed, and part of me just wants to cry. I met her at UT and this really hurts.
Go with God Coach Summitt -- you've more than earned it.

I met her once 11 years ago before a UT football game with my sister. I was 12 years old at the time and I'll never forget her shaking my hand and looking me directly and sternly in my eyes with with her famous stare and asking me if I made good grades in school. I told her yes mam and she nodded her head and told me never to slack off with my studies. Talk about getting my attention. That Lady was like a general commanding respect and excellence

When you hear her life story, you find that she is more amazing than you originally thought. Not many Coach Summits around. RIP.

If she ever spoke to your class or organization at UT, you always made sure your shirt was tucked in, hair was brushed and you paid attention to every word she was saying. If you saw her on campus and were slouching, you immediately stood up straight because you didn't want to disappoint her in any way. RIP Coach Summitt.
