The Pac 12 championship game will feature the two teams with the highest conference winning percentage. Here's what that would look like in the SEC.
Note I'm only pointing out SECCGs that didn't actually happen:
2020 - Alabama v. Texas A&M (who had a game cancellation, but beat Florida straight-up)
2017 - Auburn v. Georgia or Alabama (both teams finished at 7-1, lost to Auburn, and didn't play one another; I'm not sure how the tiebreaker would work)
2011 - LSU v. Alabama or Georgia (both teams finished 7 - 1; I'm not sure how the tiebreaker would work, but LSU beat Alabama in the regular season)
2010 - Auburn v. Arkansas (who beat LSU)
2003 - LSU v. Ole Miss
2002 - Georgia v. Florida (both Bama and Florida finished 6-2, but Florida beat Georgia and Bama lost to the Dawgs; plus, Bama was on probation)
2001 - Tennessee v. Florida
1998 - Tennessee v. Florida
1997 - Tennessee v. Georgia, Auburn, Florida, or LSU (this one is a cluster; Georgia, Florida, Auburn, and LSU all finished at 6-2; however, Georgia beat Florida, but lost to Auburn; Auburn beat LSU and Georgia, but lost to Florida; Florida beat Auburn, but lost to LSU and Georgia; LSU beat Florida, but lost to Auburn and didn't play Georgia)
1996 - Florida v. Tennessee
1995 - Florida v. Tennessee
1993 - Florida v. Auburn (who was on probation and ineligible for the SECCG)

This is how it should be. Maybe even have an 11 game season, with a mini conference playoff after.

The way it should be. Bama played mizzou I think one year who won the east but finished 4th in the sec. No 3 loss team should win the conference.

Well this sucks. I like how the Big 12 does it with a round robin schedule but that's impossible for conferences that have more than 10 teams.

Iron Bowl rematch since Bama was ahead of UGA in the CFP.

UT and UF were 2 highest ranked SEC teams in both the AP and Coaches at the end of the regular season so probably them.

This would have taken away Mizzou's attempt at a crown.

You do realize this also applies to Arkansas, right?
95: UF vs UT instead
02: UGA vs UF instead
06: UF vs LSU instead

Really, the SEC is the only conference that can justify a divisional format, and there’s some caveats even for the SEC.
The Big Ten should scrap divisional format as the East is >>>>> the West.

This actually would take away the entire justification for taking Mizzou into the SEC to begin with (to balance out TA&M in the West).

I understand some of the scenarios above make the idea look bad. However, without the divisions none of those scenarios would have come to fruition. The SEC has consistently had 1 good division and 1 much worse top to bottom than the other throughout the entirety of the divisions. For years it was east heavy and more recently west. No one has any idea what those years would have been like.. take 2017 for instance, UGA mist assuredly would not have played UK, UT, MIz, & VU all.. more than likely a couple of those would have replaced by LSU or Alabama; probably..
I think doing away with divisions is exactly what the conference needs.. all of the conferences to that point.
