OU already out recruits A&M most years and LSU in average star rating, so how do you figure they would fall below them with a move to the SEC? Makes zero sense. The QB recruiting alone gives OU the advantage over everybody in the SEC but bama.

2016 - OU would be 9th in SEC recruiting
2017 - OU would be 4th in SEC recruiting
2018 - OU would be 3rd in SEC recruiting
2019 - OU would be 5th in SEC recruiting
2020 - OU would be 8th in SEC recruiting
2021 - OU would be 5th in SEC recruiting

That would be an average of finished around 6th every season in the league in recruiting over the last 6 years.

The A&M poster hit the nail on the head when he said you have to be 'stacked, stacked deep' in talent. That is a big reason some of the SEC teams like Bama, Ga, LSU and Florida have been good these last few years. But since OU and TX already recruit good and now probably getting into this league their recruiting, I think, will take off especially in TX where Bama LSU and A&M have been nailing down some of the best recruits. It will be interested going forward to see how this all unfolds. Our league will be 'Must see TV'.

Average recruiting score for 2019 to 2021 classes

LSU - 292
OU - 268
Tennessee - 248

OU is slightly closer to the vols in talent level. Kind of speaks to OP’s point

You really should learn something about the conference before making these statements. LSU says I do not think so.

They apparently don’t know about the Big 6. They’ll learn quickly enough.

Those who think OU will continue to recruit well better hope they continue to put up 11 and 12 win seasons. That has been the primary reason they have recruited well. Recruits knew they would likely win the Big 12 and get to the playoffs there for the past 21 years. They finished 1st 14 times during that stretch. String together 7 and 8 win seasons, or less, for a while and they will find themselves scratching their heads like Nebraska currently does.

Personally I don’t think OU will win 7-8 games, I think they’ll win 9-10. Their recruiting is right between LSU/A&M and Florida/aub, far below bama and UGA. That probably earns them around 9-3 in the sec

OU fans think their defense was the 85 Bears last year

Look at the offenses they played. It’s a joke. And they got beat by Iowa St and K State.

TCU, Baylor, Kansas, Tech, West Virginia and Texas had awful offenses.

List all the stud QBs you played in the Big 12 last year? And don’t give me that Purdy shite

But they did hold Florida’s 2nd string to 20 points

That really is where a huge component of the SEC's strength lies. Yes, we have heavy weights at the top, but even our "little guys" are stacked with talent and will give top tier teams nightmares.

There simply is no "off" weekend in the SEC.

This has already been proven false. Your recruiting classes, when compared to the rest of the SEC, would be around 5 or 6th best.

Y'all are in for a rude damn awakening.

Interesting/excellent point. The broad assumption is SEC membership will elevate their recruiting like it did aTm's. But to your point, aTm wasn't winning before so they had nowhere to go but up. OU has nowhere to go but down in terms of wins and conference titles. Does a 9-3 OU in the SEC have the same appeal as an 11-1 annually playoff bound OU in the Big 12?

To answer that question we probably need to know what happens with the 12 team playoff, because a 9-3 OU in the sec probably makes that

I think Oklahoma can and will do well from the start. I do think they will lose 2-3 games a year, but Texas is going to be in a world of hurt. I see break even seasons for a good while into the future.

With the move their recruiting is going to get much much better, a lot of top Texas kids had no interest in playing in the b12. Opposing coaches only had to show how many kids were being drafted into the NFL from each conference to give themselves a huge leg up over the longhorns.

Vandy is the only downside to Bama moving to the East. In the west we sometimes had teams just as bad as Vandy but at least they filled up their stadiums with their own fans and tried at football enough to make watching the game interesting.

I'm sorry, but in a world where teams like Texas and OU are joining and making us a super-conference of premier tv ratings and competition, Vandy just needs to go. They have no place here any longer. Not like it mattered, but Texas academics are just as good as Vandy's. They need to hop over to a league where private schools are relevant like the ACC.

Right now we have a heavy weight battle for better entertainment: Big 12 delusion vs. Aggie melt

Who's winning? This is going to be fun for the big 6

It will also be the environment. Gonna be weird for both teams when there is 115,000 people in and around Jordan-Hare for a regular season game.

Bama's average victory margin in division play was close 33 ppg in 2020 and 31 ppg in 2018.

Looks like they had a lot of "off" weekends
