The majority of those teams were in the Top 25 at some point last season, and Creighton finished 24th in the Coaches Poll.

Sort of wild that they would collectively fall off that much, but that's actually not a bad field for this sort of thing.

I imagine it's a pretty fun trip for the players, sort of like the Battle 4 Atlantis and Players Era Festival that they do in-season.

It is the only reason the tournament exists.

When the CBI went away... these promoters saw a window of opportunity if there was a perk.

People can hem and haw all they want about the NIT and these other tourneys... but it does give the fans of the teams something to pay attention too in the post season... even if nobody else does.

I enjoyed watching Texas play in the NIT a few years ago. When you get attached to a team, you just want to see them play more, and that's really the only reward for fans in the post-season (even if your team wins the national championship, I guess you get some bragging rights, but it's not like you as a fan get a goddamn ring or anything).

Still can’t believe we extended this bum. New AD blew it

Oklahoma and Colorado are heading to overtime in Las Vegas

OU blew a 7-point lead with 1:41 to go

We didn’t extend him anything he still has years left and we won somehow but he’s a really bad coach … playing shooting 3 up late in games , letting his players play one on one ball and shoot it with 20 secs left on shot clock late …. He’s a poor coach .

Wow we won! Fouls in 2nd half and OT were OU 17 and Buffs 12. I am so tired of Moser unable to close out games. He could have MJ, SGA, Wemby, Jokic and Steph and would still struggle to close games.

On to the next it’s nice to get a win - I guess 2 weeks off team was rusty - but the end of game strategy sucked. Got the win in OT but man this team is hard to watch.

And correction we didn’t extend Moser he has 2 more contract years we just didn’t fire him.

With that win, Oklahoma players just made $50,000

That goes up to $100,000 with another win on Saturday

OU has never won a college football playoff game. TCU and Texas both have despite making way less of these games.

Let’s compare the past seasons of each spots?
Texas vs OU in football - Texas killed them
In baseball - Texas swept them
In basketball - series tied, despite OU looking better at end of season, Texas made March madness and sweet 16.

Semi’s today. Can Moser make the finals? Can he close a game out? Stay tuned.

They just chillin in Vegas, trying to get those Baptist kids from Baylor to party with the large gay prostitute outside the hotel wearing a "Go Bears" shirt.

Thought he would be worn out by now considering Minnesota was also invited.

Fourteen doorstoppers is still ten more than Texas could muster.

Yep, OU playing with the big boys while AU is a G5 school. AU embarrassed the entire conference and state of AL by accepting an NIT bid.

The only time an NIT bid is acceptable is if you’ve missed the NCAAT for several years in a row and you have a new coach that is on the rise. When you were at the F4 last year, have a new coach, and completely underperformed expectations by losing to some horrible teams that you had no business losing to, it’s embarrassing to “reward” them with NIT. Everytime AU gets mentioned with all the G5 teams I laugh, and think about how embarrassed I would be if Bama had done that. The top recruits are probably laughing too…come to AU, if you suck it up, we’ll get you a bunch more games against G5 teams

OU played this the right way. Go compete against the P4 for money. Boomer Sooner…go represent

OU was favored by 1 yesterday now Baylor is favored by 1.5. Either way it should be a good game.

So 72 (teams) in ncaa, 32 teams in NIT, so you are playing for 105th place? Boomer…..

This has overtaken the NIT. So many more brand names than the reject scrubs of the NIT.
