I forgot about Jacob Jordan but this is year three for Venables and you shouldn’t be at walk-ons after five WR injuries.

We're playing 3rd stringers at WR who were at their HS proms a few months ago, clown. One of our best WRs last year was a walk-on, clown.

Also, the fact that you only signed two OL in the past two years and 6 in four years (2 of them transferred) is fricking pathetic. You will never win in this league recruiting like that.

We signed four OL in the 2023 class
We signed two OL in the 2022 class and brought in two more out of the portal for a total of four. This class had to be salvaged after Riley snuck out of town on 3am flight to LA

As usual, a tRant turd doesn't know what he's talking about.

I mean, you’re basing that on one bad season. OU is a blue blood program with passionate boosters. They will do what it takes to turn things around.
Every school has down cycles, even the blue bloods, but they usually turn things around. Nebraska is the exception, not the rule.

Has aNm been SEC ready or am I missing something? What the frick have yall won to talk shite?

?Exactly. All the while still having to pay their grifter coach almost 80 million dollars til 2031.

So typical. Life unfair much to you?

I like this comment as A&M stands firmly as #1 in SEC while Texas almost losses to Vande.

Sorry but we dont hear you sip horn fans from so, so far below us.

OU is 1-4 in conference and still has to play Bama, Missouri, and LSU.

One of those is not like the other two.

They are going to have to pump NIL to top 10 to be good, they will have to spend 2 million on an OC better pump some oil money into SEC level facilities.
They should have had this in place before coming to the SEC you don't get an off week here or 3 ike in the big 12. Texas could have lost to Vandy.

OU allowed 1 sack when Jacob Sexton was playing.

Then after he got hurt they inserted a freshman, for an all freshman left side of the OL.

And it went a little poorly to say the least.

They definitely don’t have a holding problem.

We have several problems. In the SEC its hard go mask problems but if its only 1, you can scheme a bit to possibly overcome it. But ours are just unmaskable yet we did that for 2 quarters.

1. Top 5 WRs out.
2. OLine injuries and young
3. Two freshman QBs
4. Bad TE play
5. OC liabilities

No SEC team can win with all 5 of these. Take the top 5 WRs off of any SEC team alone and they might can mask it somewhat if their oline, qb and TE’s are superior. When you get to the 6th and below WRs, they don’t have the speed and skill to get separation meaning oline has to block longer.

We had 2 freshmen at OT/OG and a freshman QB trying to throw to walk-on and 3rd/4th string WRs. In first half we had another young Oline playing decent but he got injured. That was just too much to overcome.

Considering the circumstances we made a game of it for one half against a team ranked in top 5 of most defensive categories. That was impressive to me. But it caught up in 2nd and Ole Miss made adjustments and the wheels came off.

And yet it still wasn’t a blowout. We even made it interesting with a long drive in 4th that had we scored TD would have made it close. But our interim OC had a TE try a pass and that was stupid lol. And he stopped running which led to sacks. But it was an amazing feat down so many players.

The players haven’t quit. We likely will struggle to make a bowl game. But I’ll take the SEC over where we came from. The fans who went had a great time and loved the experience. The Grove was as good as advertised, better than anything in B12 not counting the RRS which is its own deal.

Any team can make it in this day and age as long as they have the money and the right coach. OU doesn’t have an SEC problem, they have a Brent Venables problem. He makes horrible roster and game time decisions, he panics when he’s faced with adversity, and quite frankly he’s way in over his head.

Venables is a fantastic coordinator but a terrible HC.

This is real talk. But someone said if the next coach doesn’t hit, OU is in trouble and that’s true as well.

I don’t think Arnold was willing to wait, which is why they let Gabriel go / Gabriel hit the portal & split.

Looks like a bold move for Gabriel, which has paid off - So far!!!!

Gabriel staying would have made no difference. He'd probably be dead by now.

He must be living right. He tripled his NIL by moving to Oregon. Plus he got engaged. Plus he's the QB of the #1 team in the country.
