This makes no sense. Why should the #1 seed be given the hardest path and the teams who finished well behind them and worse than them be given easier paths?

3. But your point still stands. They played an excellent schedule. Just didn't show up when it matters. College basketball is full of dominant regular season teams no one remembers because that sport is about winning with everything on the line in March. CFB is now that for better or worse.

Texas got the easiest draw in the entire playoffs. So easy, it's hard not the think it was set up for them, just like the SEC set them up to make the playoffs.
They get matched up with the weakest conference champion in the first round, and then plays the second weakest team in the tournament.
And now, against the first Top 40 team they'll have to play, they get a home game.
