“Jumbo owns Auburn, but late in the game last year Saban texted him to let Gus win so Ole Jimbo let them off the hook.”

Jimbo is a fantastic football mind and at least at some point seemed to have an eye for talent and assistants. The perfect storm was the Candi situation combined with our NC, he seemed to turn into an angry man that refused to admit to any mistake. He refused to address his own playcalling/plodding offensive scheme, Rick Trickett continually fielding an OL that could barely line up, and the promotion of Charles Kelly to DC when poor Chuck didn't know what a goddamn split was. I don't know how many people watched the FSU season doc thing on HBO or Showtime in 2016 but I'm surprised that the guy who resorted to having players sign promise notes to "play hard" is the same guy worth $75 million and has reinvented himself as an elite coach. We'll see I guess

Opposing coaches believe that Jimbo is going to deliver the milk this year.

because youve had 3 head coaches in your lifetime and only 1 coaching search, which left your program in shambles.

I'm honestly not sure what this post means. It was obvious to anybody that watches college football that Jimbo quit on FSU. There is no attempt to rewrite Jimbo's record, he built FSU back up from 7-6 in 2009 to a team in 2012 that lost 2 games and shouldn't have. He recruited like an SOB and in 2013 it all came together with immense talent, a young Jameis that hadn't lost his mind yet, and Jeremy Pruitt taking a top 5 defense to another level. Candi happened and Jameis lost his mind so instead of being a wire to wire #1 in 2014 like many thought, FSU squeaked out game after game as an ill prepared football team stocked full of NFL players because Jimbo's head was already out of FSU and Tally after Candi fricked the whole town. That season culminated in a blowout to Oregon in the inaugural CFB playoff and it was downhill from there. He left the program in shambles because he couldn't recruit positions of need and the players that he had held no respect for him or the program, and he didn't care. He fled from one of the preeminent programs in the country to go to TAMU for a bunch of money. Taggart is an awful coach but Jimbo basically handed him a sack of dogshitt on his way out of the office

I couldn’t have typed anything with more truth in it. He’s a great QB coach and I’d take him in a heartbeat over Gus but he isn’t worth $75 million.

I do think he quit on FSU as well but only when it was clear he was never going to get the support he needed to sustain the success.

Yeah but a coach never quits on his team like he did

When the going gets tough for Aggy(let's face it, the going will always be tough considering their division) Jimbo will quit on them too. He'll take every penny of that $75 mil and hand the next incoming coach the same sack of dogshit he handed Taggart on his way out the door.

Revisionist history

Florida State was on the decline
Houston in 2015
Louisville in 2016.

Jimbo gave up 60 points to Louisville and loss by 40 points.

Then there was 5-6.

So what Willie T inherited was Jimbo's.

I think I've heard that excuse before.

Wasn't the reason Strong went 6-7 his first year because "Mack left the program in shambles"?

You kept using that excuse in 2015 (5-7) and 2016 (5-7, loss to Kansas), up until you fired the only black head coach in your program's history for a better 3 year record than McWilliams' first 3 seasons.

What does color have to do with anything?

Jimbo is on aggy.
So you are only lying to yourself if you cannot see his issues at Florida State.

With the talent he had at FSU and the competition he faced, he should have been in the national championship game every year. Instead, he finished out with a losing season in 2017. Sad!

Jimbo ran the FSU program to the ground and lost
The respect of his players. That’s the biggest question for A&M to wonder about over time.

Because Jimbo left FSU, you dumbass. Though I am glad to see you admit that he is an elite coach who produced elite results at FSU.

They've turned on Jimbo worse than we did with Urban.

You also have to factor in a Florida without Urban Meyer and a Miami program during Nevin Shapiro.

Jimbo at A&M is never going to have the state of Texas to himself.
Good to Great coach but not elite.

An elite coach under those circumstances would have won 2-3 National Championships.

Elite can't just be given to anyone.
You may have 1-2 elite coaches at a given time.
A bunch of good to great coaches who can win a NC in the right situations.

Elite coaches could win a NC at probably the top 15 schools.
And win multiple NC in the right situations.

Not many on the Tiger and SEC Rant do, so that makes you an anomaly.

Some real "No Life" nut jobs on both.
