These kids don't sit all that much. Saban plays a frick ton of guys. And it isn't just in garbage time. He's really good at cutting out roles for players.
It isn't just mindless playing time at the end of a game. He keeps them involved and it leads to them being MONSTERS when it's their time to fully take over.

All major schools cheat whenever possible. Some (Bama) are just better at it (read: have been doing it longer and have more connections) than others.
Let's throw steroids in there too. I know first hand that several Bama players are on steroids and I assume that is true for SEC players in general.

Before Nick Saban even touched down in Tuscaloosa in 2007, people were already saying what a great job of recruiting he would do at Alabama. This shouldn't be such a big surprise.

I don't think thy are doing anything that has not been done before.
I think every rule that can be stretched is stretched to the point of almost breaking. They do a great job of identifying any weakness in any rule and pushing the envelope maximally.
I think some players (happens everywhere!) may be getting extra benefits from non-traceable sources.
All that being said, they are the golden goose for CFB currently and nothing will be done to disrupt them even if caught red-handed. We all need to improve to compete. We need to read the rules and interpret them leniently. We need to stretch the rules and push the envelopes (full of cash if necessary!).
