Texas fans in a nutshell:
Their lack of self awareness is rivaled only by their abundance of arrogance.
They think the state of Texas was named after them and they own the rights to the letter "T".
Heck, the way they're talking on social media you'd think that the SEC is joining them and not the other way around.

OU needs Texas. If they were unable to play Texas every year in DFW, their recruiting would take a big hit. They live off of recruits from DFW. It would be much tougher recruiting kids to go to OU if they couldn’t sell them on the chance to beat Texas in front of their family and friends each year.
Nobody else really needs to put up with the endless BS from Texas, though. OU is unique in that regard. Everybody else just gets away from them as soon as possible.

Crazy to think that to a 13 year old, Texas AM has been more relevant than Texas in their lifetime…
Crazy to think that nobody alive today likely recalls the Aggies last national championship. Nobody this century has seen them win a conference championship.
Their 12 year claim of being more relevant than Texas is shaky at best, but that's a pretty low bar considering we're down. What do the Aggies have to show for this period of excellence?
You guys are either listening to the Aggie fear too much about the ebil Longhorns or you're actually Aggies yourselves.
This all going to be fun.

You will love this cousin, my daughter is a student at Texas. She wanted to go to Arkansas game last year. I agreed to pay for it as long as she agreed to take a pic with an arkansas fan in a plastic pig hat. (They are so bad and tacky that they are actually cool and awesome) I did warn her that you guys were very tough at home and even LSU has trouble with you in the mountains when we are very good and you really hate Texas and would probably win. She blew me off as they were ranked etc.
Of course you guys beat them like an old drum. I wish I could post here text to me with the pig hat pictures. It was something like this.
I rode on a crappy bus for 9 nine hours for this shite. The AC broke before we got out of Texas. The beat us so bad the game was embarrassing. I am so fricking done with this team. They are a joke.

Best line from Ron Meyers… former SMU HC. “We referred to that gold Trans Am as “Trans A&M”.
Might not be exact but very close. LOL

Lol the hate for Texas on this board is absolutely delicious
It truly brings joy to our hearts seeing how much real estate we occupy in apparently every fanbases head so far
How many threads on the first page are currently about the Longhorns?

It really is delicious isn't it? And this is over a program that hasn't won s*** in 20 years. If we ever get our s*** together and start winning again they might have a literal meltdown

Yep. Funny how every team that ran away from the Big 12 -- while simultaneously blaming us for its downfall -- just happened to have a dismal record against us. And by pure coincidence, they can never clearly articulate why they hate us! They just... do.
Arkansas went 5-15 vs. Texas in the 20 years before leaving the SWC (23-56 overall).
Texas A&M was 5-11 vs. Texas in the Big 12 (35-76 overall).
Missouri was 2-7 vs. Texas in the Big 12 (6-18 overall).
For good measure, Nebraska was 1-9 against Texas in the Big 12 (4-10 overall).

If we were anywhere near as insecure as these other fanbases, I’d encourage you post that as its own OP. But alas, it’s much funnier watching these crybabies talk about how much they hate Texas because… well Texas pushed them around whenever they wanted, and however they wanted

The REC is licking their chops at these pretenders from Austin. They are about to find out who wears the pants at least with regards to football. They don’t have the country smarts or level of insanity to compete with the REC.
You left out how arrogant we are rofl

I can. You were tired of getting that arse beat.
No, it wasn't. It was all the politicking and in-conference favors that generally all went in Texas' favor to the ultimate detriment of the other members.
Arkansas left because of it...Nebraska and Colorado followed for the same reasons (Texas' insistence on the Longhorn Network that unfairly gave the Longhorns a huge recruiting advantage over everyone else in the conference)...Missouri, too. They were all tired of it.
But, Texas' ways are in for a huge surprise in the SEC. You're not going to have that same power you had in the old SWC days or even in the Big 12 days. Not happenin'.

Nebraska and a&m voted in favor of unequal tier 3 rights. We did nothing they didn't vote in favor of. That's what you call a fact as opposed to hysterical fantasy which they like to run with because it tells a better story.
Do you honestly believe that if ESPN went to Nebraska or A&M with the same offer that they would have turned it down? You can't be that stupid. then again maybe you can.
"One point of contention in the Big 12 was the unequal distribution of TV revenue, as was common in most other top conferences. Nebraska, Texas, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma objected to equal sharing, according to former Commissioner Dan Beebe. Four votes gave them the ability to block revenue sharing votes."
A&M and Nebraska were all for it until we did better with it than they did then they ran away crying while blaming us for destroying the conference.

Great article about why Arkansas left....thanks for linking that.

Colorado didn’t care about their own football program, let alone what Texas was doing. They always wanted the PAC and didn’t want Baylor to take their place during the rumored Big 12 South moving west.
Nebraska, Texas A&M both voted in lock step with Texas on the very issues they claim as the reasons they left. To Missouri’s credit, they seemed to vote for more equitable distribution.
Texas proposed a joint network with UT and A&M, who was too poor at the time to front the money to start it up. Texas very reasonably said fine, we’ll shoulder the costs, but we’ll take a bigger piece of the pie. A&M balked. So we went out on our own and ESPN made us an offer no one would’ve refused.
In the end, if their Big 12 records vs. Texas were reversed in the favor, they’d all still be in the Big 12.

Like I said earlier I totally get why Arkansas left. Being the only non Texas school you were at a huge political disadvantage I don't blame you for leaving.

Alabama politics will keep Texas in check with help from SEC schools that have big influences.
Also Arkansas wanted to join the Big 8 conference back in the 70s.
