9 game conference season is going to be the death of the SEC.
The conference is going to die, because it gets a third of the playoff spots, rather than half?

Aggies are walking between raindrops this season. You cannot relate. Aggies avoid: Ole Miss, Bama, and UGA. What if you had to play all 3? You didn’t even have to play the best Vandy team of all time. Your schedule is perfection, but it’s a fluke as to all of those teams sucking this year.

When all of our best teams play each other we lose playoff spots. This committee would have aTm out of the playoffs with 3 losses to top-5 teams.

Tech should be in the playoff.

If Miami wins out (They should) they will make the playoffs, too.
BIG 12 has a shot at 2 teams.

That gives us:

SEC-5 (A&M, UGA, Alabama, Ole Miss, Oklahoma (Alabama possibly missing with loss to Auburn and assuming all others win out. Another loss by Alabama or Oklahoma puts them out)
ACC-1 (Miami, assuming Georgia beats GT))
BIG 12-1 (Texas Tech, MAYBE 1 of Utah, BYU)
B1G-3 (OSU, Oregon, Indiana)
ND
G5-1 (South Florida?)

You have the BIG 12 lurking with 1 team in and 2 more (BYU, Utah) on the bubble. If PITT beats Miami (Possible) the ACC would be left out.

There’s a flip side to that coin. Those teams are also happy they are not playing A&M.

Or have you already washed away your arse whipping by them out of your memory.

Miami is going to have a very hard time making the playoffs my guy. They’re likely not going to be able to play for the ACC championship since both their losses are in conference and this is assuming they don’t lose again.

There’s like three or four 1 loss teams in front of them that play each other still none of which Miami plays. I’m not sure if it’s even really possible. And I don’t think a 10-2 ACC team who couldn’t even make their conference championship is just an automatic in this year.

Tech having to play George might help Miami make the playoff.

You forgot to add Notre Dame with the other two.

Last year 9-3 Clemson upset SMU in the ACC championship and they didn’t kick out SMU. The same will happen again, it’s highly unlikely any 10-2 or 11-1 teams playing in that game that lose will be kicked out for Miami who couldn’t even be there.

They’re not going to create incentives to avoid the conference championship deliberately

Miami will miss the playoff I think unless they somehow snuck into the ACCCG. ND looking better helps them though.

It does not have to be a conference champ. It’s highest ranked teams in 5 different conference.

Miami can get in over Georgia Tech without playing in the ACC champ game.

Yep I think the committee only drops teams for losses in a championship game to teams that won their conference.

Miami is also a big threat to steal a spot

Wins over Notre Dame, FSU and Florida; and they have that “star power” brand - that should not be a factor, but it is

Miami's schedule is crap except for ND.

If Miami wins out, I think the committee will push them past Vandy, BYU, and Utah, due to the Notre Dame win

Miami still needs massive help to get to the ACC Championship game though....could be the ACC actually gets 2 teams, the Big XII one

Possibly. GT will not make the playoffs unless they beat georgai, though. Their schedule is horrid. The ACC's top ranked team is #15 and #16, and GT is one of those, Miami, the other. And GT does not play Miami. After them it is #19 and #20. It's just a really bad conference. Add tot hat, that GT almost got beat yesterday by a horrid Boston College team and they will probably drop in the rankings again.

Yeah, I hate that this kind of bullshite love for lesser teams in lesser conferences is going to keep us out of the CFP this year

GT can make the playoff by winning the ACCCG. Not sure where they stand on that tiebreaker though to get in but a GA loss doesn't affect that.
