The mighty black bears of Maine came into our house and rumbled to 226 total yards of offense averaging 2.8 yards per carry.

This juggernaut offensive display vaulted them to a 9-7 victory over the Sylvester Croom led Bulldogs.
Also... on this day 14 years ago I got blackout drunk. Fun times.....

What was the Croom quote after the game?

He said something like, Maine just has more talented players.

Croom was underrated. Poor guy was building something and got run out of town.

Same thing could be said about McEltooth and UF ran him out of town on the shark he rode in on.

There was a song floating around years ago on YouTube that was "losing to Croom will get you fired" It was awesome. Wish I could find it.

I was there. Walked out in 4th quarter. If I'm not mistaken we got a turnover late with a chance to win and either time ran out or we missed the FG attempt. I might have dreamed that.

You talking about that "West Coast Offense" that never had players to run it? Great man and person but you hire a a HC that hasn't been involved in college football for 18 years and expect him to have a recruiting network is ludicrous. Templeton and NCAA was the reason for the debacle.

Ahh yes. How we remember 1960. It was such a simpler time. Elvis came back from Germany, JFK beat Nixon, the Civil Rights Act was signed, and Ole Miss claims a title by the usual dodging of Alabama and only playing two AP poll ranked teams all season.

Still wasn’t as bad as the 3-2 game.
