Traditonal Southern examples would be sweet tea, chicken fried steak with gravy, fried chicken, beans and cornbread, collard greens, etc...

Add black eyed peas and you’ve got an Oklahoma meal.

My parents literally lived on beans and cornbread because that is all they could afford.

I promise you Oklahoma ain’t Midwest no matter how many outsiders characterize is that way.

My parents grew up in Hollis of Darrel Royal fame and were 10 minutes either west or south to Texas.

I've thought the same thing - that we'll play Simple Man at your funeral.

JK man. I think I'm doing the same.

Nothing Southern about that Acadian concoction. Let's just all agree to chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and biscuits w sausage gravy. Man grub.

pio, if you have never had grits you need to turn in your SEC card now

PS - instant grits don't count as real grits

PPS - you can get stone ground grits from Weisenberger, been grinding my grits since 1865

LOL....the standard breakfast at my house when I was a kid was grits (with butter or ham gravy) & eggs with homemade biscuits and molasses.
