We're fairly new to the conference so I was wondering, is Ole Miss the perpetual punching bag? Or is this new?

This is not new. Anytime something comes out in the SEC that anyone can spin into being controversial, this is what happens. People try to flood the board with stupid shite to see if their thread will last multiple pages or not. Unfortunately, it's as simple and stupid as that. Welcome to the SEC Rant.

We’re in the spotlight this week. Auburn, I think, still has the record for “As the Plains Burn”

Correct.

Now that the weather is nice again, I’m sure we’ll be able to punch Texas for having more giant dildos at protests.

Only teams who are a threat to win are given this much attention.

Ole Miss and Texas A&M are eerily similar in the fact that the only time they're in the news, it has absolutely nothing to do with recognized success.

Pretty new ish. A lot of it is because other teams fanbases can’t get over that their program has let “little ole miss” pass them up.

Ole Miss has quite literally never been where they were last season, in modern times, so they expect to maintain it, even after losing their coaches and some key players to LSU.

The only question is if it's a fast fall back to where they were or a slow creep. Pete is very capable of falling flat on his face this year.

Arkansas, Ole Miss, State, South Carolina, Vandy, Kentucky, Missouri have always been schools that fans would normally circle and say "W" on their preseason picks, unless you were one of those schools, then it was a 50-50 game.

Alabama and Georgia were almost certain losses. At one time, Florida was a nearly certain loss.

With a few exceptions, Tennessee, LSU and Auburn were usually 50-50 games to the upper tier, although I'm sure Florida almost always views Tennessee as a win. They find a way to beat UT even when UT has a better team.

But any school could be a target. At any time.
