Is the original starter healed up and y’all are just rolling with Trinidad, or is the injured guy having to watch his backup ball out knowing it’s gonna be hard to retake his starter role?

is the starter whether Simmons is injured or not. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Was legitimately wondering. I figure you can’t pull the hot hand. It’s gotta be good to know you have a starter caliber player just in case.

Definitely. Simmons was healthy this game but Trinidad proved two weeks in a row that he can make solid plays and protect the ball. Simmons first two games had some questionable moments, but to his defense most were caused by offense line issues. But a good season quarterback can help make up for a poor offensive line. That’s what made our offense so great last year with dart. And Simmons just doesn’t have the experience yet

If you watched the game why wouldn’t you put ole Trinidad James in that bitch every game

There’s no situation. Trinidad is the starter

Lane will decide before the Washington State game.
He said that Simmons would be back when he is 100% but after yesterday he kinda backed off that.
He said he didn't have to decide that today at the press conference post game. We have a bye.
We have two good QBs.
I trust Lane to figure it out.

What a terrible problem to have.
Start the season with one of the best young quarterbacks in the country. He looks great and suffers an injury.
Replace him with someone even better who is sixth in the Heisman odds despite playing 2/3 the games of everyone in front of him.
It brings up a very interesting topic for those who love college football at every level. There are some stars at D2/D3 schools that for whatever reason get overlooked out of high school. Anybody watching what Trinidad is doing at Ole Miss and thinking "d2" is an idiot. There are some high school kids that would rather work at Subway* than lower themselves to playing D2/D3 and that's a shame.
* - No lie. There's a high school football star in my town working at Subway. He had dozens of opportunities to play at high level D2 and in his words it was "SEC or bust."

Not quite. He could have played if he had to but would have been limited.
Simmons should be close to 100% for Wazzu. If he is, I expect him to start.

It’s an interesting problem we find ourselves in.

I would think Trinidad has earned the starting position based on his play on the field over the last three games. A bit of tough break for Simmons but there is still a lot of football to be played. Hopefully he will be patient and wait for his opportunity to come back around to him. And it will.
