Here’s a novel thought…Ole Miss isn’t big enough, using any metric you wish, for a bigger stadium…literally the smallest school in the SEC, save Vanderbilt. It’s a damn miracle we do as well as we do in regards to attendance…that’s the truth, and Lane can take it or leave it. ??

They need to show up, which they have - after lane has complained to fans.
It was cool seeing Arkansas attendance up 20% already this year over last years avg, while looking into OM yesterday. Glad ppl are getting back out.

The plan was to have a brand new stadium in the next 8/10 years. They were going to start after this season but they are delaying it because of Brandon. The cost doubled in 1 year. Like aTm, they will tear down one side and then other a few years later.

That certainly had an effect but Kiffin asked them to delay it and focus on organizing the NIL instead.

Wrong. You should have upgraded your stadium A LONG time ago. It matters to fans, recruits and to the overall perception of your program.
Right now i agree that NIL should be top priority though. But at some point there should be some uphrades if you want to be viewed as destination program.

Ole Miss is giving Lane everything he has asked for. Our AD, Keith Carter, is doing a damn good job. For facilities, we have a huge campaign going called Champions Now, which is across the entire school, but also the stadium, weight room, locker room, etc... For NIL, we have created the Grove Collective as well. Lane is being kept very happy.

We had #neveryield and yielded to all programs except OM

Y’all yielded when Lane swerved your asses. #memorandumofunderstanding

I do not see Ole Miss needing a larger stadium? Maybe nicer and facilitates upgrade. Not that they are not popular but I always thought Oxford such a small town. Those that want to go are going now.

what fricking century is this? Its 2022, last thing any school needs to be doing is expanding a stadium. People are not attending live events like they used to and its a waste of money to add any seats
what schools need to be doing is upgrading stadiums, other facilities and focusing on nil currently.

We definitely don’t need a larger stadium.

Given the waning attendance in college football, I think the future trend will be for smaller stadiums with more amenities.

They rarely fill it now.
It's more about what will attract talent. Quality of life and support structures for student athletes, training, nutrition, and strength and conditioning programs mean as much or more.
Top recruiters and a focused effort on development and retention is crucial.
NIL structures are the way of the future for getting talent, but you still have to develop and manage it to keep a good product on the field consistently.
Nothing wrong with VHS as is for a game day environment. Maybe some targeted efforts to improve fan experience would be a benefit. But, we are not far removed from a lot of programs heavily considering downsizing stadium size.

I think many stadiums in the South would benefit from awnings.

True. The student section at VHS is baking on early day games.
I like the overhangs at Hard Rock stadium. An addition like that would benefit many stadiums for the emergent trend of 11 AM kickoffs in Sept
VHS gets some shade in the SW end zone but the students catch it direct all day.

Yep. It's aluminum too. You could probably fry an egg on it.

They look nice. I know the players complain they keep the field too wet though. It'd take some smart engineers to figure out how to fix that issue at the Vaught.

They rarely fill up the ine they have. They should just increase ticket prices
