No he is correct. The Sports Media department trailblazed how SEC teams operate within sports media/marketing. Back in 08 or 09, SEC and XOS officials toured our sports video and marketing departments(I used to work there for 4 years) to see how we operated. They gave us a million dollar grant to grow our control room and the budget for The Season. We started in-house producing secondary sports and baseball straight to television before anyone else in the conference. Now, most schools are producing their own football broadcasts for television.

You can thank a guy named J. Stern for how your schools' sports media departments operate. He was head of that department at Ole Miss for years. Credit from Ole Miss fans also go to him for the vast majority of video board Are You Ready celebrity appearances over the years because of his connections.

Hey, truth hurts. Ole Miss really did flip the script for media in the SEC.

When I worked at the Yerby Center while a student at Ole Miss over 20+ years ago J was working out of a tiny back office in the building. Cleaned out broom closet basically. He showed us all the digital content (before iPhones obviously) he was putting together for Swole Miss day for Jason Harrison's Senior Day and you could tell he was waaaaayyyy ahead of his time. I was a Marketing major myself and was blown away by it. He makes a cameo bottom left in the best sports gif of all time. Retired a year or two after I believe.

Didn't you read it? Ole Miss invented sports marketing.

He did. Shane Sanford took over his position after J retired. He’s incredibly talented as well.

That awesome duo of Frank Wilson and Pete Golding at the University of Texas at San Antonio are back together, with the same results most likely to follow. This will last 2 years tops before it implodes.
