re: Ole Miss folks ... were the Tuohy's "blindsided" by Jussie Oher?

The movie embellished how poor, dumb, and bad at football he was to soak up some sympathy for a character in a movie that depicted Oher. I guarantee you most people’s understanding of who Oher or the Tuohy’s were is based on watching the movie, which was factually incorrect but based on a true story in general.

Either he blew all his money or he has a book deal

I'm sure a new book is coming.
As is the netflix/espn movie (or documentary).
That is why he is suing to end the conservatorship.

you can't prove they lied about anything
you can't prove he didn't get any money from the movie
linking media cucks is not proof
the other day I sat and listened to radio dipshits in NWA read off this story, no facts presented, and they were judge jury and executioner of the Tuohy's, no facts, just opinions, and I hope people like them end up getting sued for the same type shite

You hit the bullseye when you said the truth is most likely in the middle but people have already chosen sides and concreted in their opinions, IMO based on seeing the movie as reality and on external factors unrelated to the situation at hand. (Far as I’m gonna go, I don’t discuss politics, religion or social issues on social media or message boards.)

The Tuohys may have not gained much financially directly from the film, but indirectly, via fame, standing and adulation, they benefited immeasurably by a story that was not accurate (and they knew it not be true).
There's fault on all sides here, but who benefited the most, the Toughys by far. With or without them, he was a 5-star recruit and a future 1st round draft pick.

Get them and their attorney that represented Oher on the stand and see if they are willing to commit perjury to save reputation.
The "proof" is in Oher's words from his book. He goes into detail how the Tuohys and their attorney (that represented Oher) explained what he was signing.

I don't argue whether he got money from the movie or not. What I do argue is that the Tuohy's council convinced Oher to sign paperwork which stripped his personal rights to financial gain from his personal story away.

That's what Court is for.
Sean just said that they were not allowed to adopt Michael. That's a lie. He can blame his attorney. But it wasn't true. And an attorney telling Michael Oher to sign a conservatorship based on a lie is the current allegation.

Why am I not shocked that the conservative wackos are in lock step with the rich white family and all the libs are siding with the poor black kid. `

Use him for what? The Tuohys were already worth more when they met Oher than he has ever been worth. They have never needed any income from him or the movie.

So rich people don't screw others over because they wouldn't need to?
They had him sign a conservatorship so Leigh Anne could legally take lead on micromanaging Michael's story.
She's a type A personality and it pushed Michael out of the way.

I don't know the Touhys, but as they are closely associated with Sleaze, I'm betting they are "look at me" Christians. "Adopting" a black (portrayed as) dumb kid from the streets, "saving" him and then delivering him to OM was invaluable to their image. The fame from that movie was worth more than gold.

You are asking for proof on a message board by people who weren't there.
I reference Oher's 2011 book.
You dgas.
I reference Sean's lie (or misrepresentation about adoption).
You dgas.
Put them on the stand.
People have a way of weighing out jail time for perjury vs reputational damage.
You know it. You just don't want to give any credence that Oher was taken advantage of by someone who asked him to call her "mom".

Because you're a whacko upper middle class white leftist who sees poor black people as your slave voting block.

Nope.
He was enrolled into Briarcrest his sophomore year. He was declared a 5 star after his junior year there. He joined the Tuohy's around the beginning of his senior year.
Wrong, he was already a 5-star "prospect" that every HS in Memphis knew about.
There's a big difference between "prospect" and "recruit." One usually becomes a recruit in the 11th grade.

Wrong! You're the one saying you have proof!
You can't prove any of the possible bullshite accusations.

I'm with you on that.
I can't stand the Tuohys types. We've got plenty from here in Northwest Arkansas, and their favorite fake Christian son employs the Tuohy's son at UCF.
