O was not a good coach at Ole Miss. Think part of the problem was he felt he had to prove something since he went from a D-line coach to being head coach, and he's since learned that you can be a good manager without being the decision maker. Hire good people who are smarter than you and trust them to do their job. He hired great coordinators and he focused on what he's good at. The team that this should really hurt is USC. He was just too young and inexperienced when we hired him, he did a good job at USC and they would be a lot better off had they given him the permanent HC job.
But congrats LSU, that was an impressive season and hard to find a better individual season than what Burrow did.

I will say this as an indirect comment on the topic. USCW royally screwed up by not making O their permanent coach. They would be so much better today but instead they have been decent but not anywhere close to elite over the last 5-6 years. He was not a sexy enough of a hire.
