It means we are better than you... seriously. It's a southern drawl version of "hoity toity." The cheer goes back to the WW2 days.

I did google it. And all google says is that it's a chant or rally cry and also a winter cocktail. I assumed there was some deeper meaning behind it or at least some story as to how it originated other than "it's just some made up words that we chant."

Thanks! When you say it goes back to WW2, was it used by some Mississippi affiliated battalion? I can't imagine WW2 soldiers taking pride in essentially being called hoity toity.
