Football - didn’t make the playoffs and underperformed
Men’s Basketball - Lost in sweet 16
Women’s Basketball - lost in Sweet Sixteen
Baseball - mid to below average SEC team. Didn’t get a national seed
Softball - not good enough to win it all

Did you fall asleep after reading the title which is discussing this year not 2022.
And congrats on your only baseball natty in the history of the school lol

Director's cup
Texas is still trying to live off the Directors Cup nobody pays attention to because they win it mainly because they get points competing in sports other schools don’t have teams or compete in. But remain irrelevant in the 3 main sports that matter. The Same goes for Stanford who wins the award often. They have the money like Texas to have teams in sports which most other schools won’t fund and it’s the only reason they win. So it’s not a fair apples to apples comparison of the success of athletic programs.
Nobody cares about the directors cup it’s a joke award.

And not a national title to be found .
I kid, that’s a good year but do your really care without a ring in one sport ?

Yes. We care that our teams are winning and upsetting the balance of power in the conference. We care that we have significantly outpaced our in state rival. We care that revenue, attendance, and enrollment are all setting records.
We're sports fans. So we care that our teams are doing well.

Keith Carter ended up being a home run hire at AD, zero question about it. That place was dysfunctional as all get out when he took over. Even baseball, who was good pre-Carter but nobody pissed off OM fans more than late 2000’s and 2010’s Bianco.

Keep the head football coach - Check
Keep the head basketball coach - Check
Yes, it was an excellent year for Ole Miss.

It's taken many years for Ole Miss to get to this point.
My brother-in-law was a team captain in the late 70's, a rough period for Ole Miss. The administration laid the groundwork for today in the early 80's when they finally ditched the Rebel flag and initiated a long, sometimes bumpy, period of rebranding. It was met with a lot of hostility from the old guard, but it was necessary for Ole Miss to compete.
Now there's a lot to offer. The charm of Oxford, better funding, nice facilities. That helps attract top coaches.
You didn't mention the track & field program which has dramatically improved over the years. They can go toe-to-toe with Arkansas in distance, something I never thought I'd see.

This is absolutely sure. Carter is the only AD in my lifetime that tried to win by saving money and trying for the "good enough" trophy. He decided to see what we can do if we really support the teams. We haven't just gotten better at one or two sports under his leadership but seemingly all sports have improved.

But OM fans expected a serious run at the nat’l championship in football. They under performed.

Honest question, as an Ole Miss fan are you happy with the results of this school year?

Overall: yes.
Basketball: happy
Football: satisfied…..but not happy. Replace the nepotism OC and we’re all happy.
Baseball: so far….satisfied. Hosting a regional should be the bare minimum for our program.
