Of course I'm biased.
That doesn't change what I posted.
The entire area is shockingly barren and without positive attributes to anyone who isn't 17-23 years old.
I'm still kinda stunned.

You could say that about the majority of college towns. Who would want to live in College Station if they weren't going to school? It would be boring as hell.

Dear Dick Magic,
We are sorry you didn't find our town to your liking. We are currently undergoing massive developments in our entertainment district, and have more construction per square foot than anywhere else in Texas.
Texas A&M is a very proud school, and we are pouring our astronomical resources into upgrading every facet of College Station/Bryan to reflect that pride.
I hope you will consider visiting again someday.
Yours,
G. Stroke
Chairman, College Station Chamber of Rustled Affairs
P.S. Your mother broke my bed frame and refuses to pay for it. You'll receive an invoice for the damages in the next few business days.

I shouldn't have provided that example--it does nothing to accurately describe the town/state. Let's just say I greatly truncated my description of why it's ... [nevermind].
But I laugh heartily at this entire thread.
Carry on.

Congrats on the construction and sex but that doesn't change the fact that your town sucks. I hope it's better next year.

It's a great place.
Honestly.
If you visit, you'll enjoy yourself.

I visited for work a few times. I'm making my first trip for gameday next year.

I'm from Atlanta, born & raised. Not born and raised in a Gwinnett, Scarietta, or any other OTP wasteland; no, actual Atlanta.
Aggies, Here' s my Xmas Gift to You
HOTELS
-Chances are, you're going to want to party before and absolutely after the game. It's New Years. I would recommend staying in Buckhead because of this. It is by far the nicest place in town, has the best restaurants, bars, pretty women, or anything else you can think of. If you don't rent a car or have one in town (which I STRONGLY suggest you do, it's a driving town), there is a Marta station within walking distance of most of these hotels. If you 'blind-book' on Priceline to say some cash, make sure you choose 'Buckhead' and '3* stars or above.'
-Intercontinental Hotel, Buckhead
-Embassy Suites, Buckhead
-Grand Hyatt, Buckhead
-Ritz Carlton, Buckhead
-DoubleTree, Buckhead
-JW Marriott, Lenox Mall
-Hyatt Place, Buckhead
If you are staying downtown, I recommend:
-The Westin (big circular building, can't miss it0
-Embassy Suites Downtown (On Marietta Street)
NYE Celebrations/Bars
If I haven't mentioned before, the spot to be is Buckhead. If you go elsewhere like Midtown, I'm sure you'll have a good time as well. However, here are some celebrations you might want to look into:
-Buckhead Ball 2014LINK /
-Bungalow Ball 2014www.bungalowball.com
-New Year's Eve a the Buckhead Theatre
-Ivy Buckhead New Year's Eve LINK /
-Or if you don't feel like paying for one particular party, just asked to get dropped of at the "East Andrews Entertainment District," and walk to 20 bars in about 3 blocks.
My particular favorites are: Park Bench, 5 Paces, East Andrews Cafe, Lost Dog, Kramer's, and Dive Bar.
Restaurants
Here are a list of the best restaurants in their respective areas:
Downtown by the Dome
-Legal Seafood
-Taco Mac (Philips Arena)--best hot wings you'll ever have. Ge the T.M.I. sauce.
-STATS Bar and Grille
-Sundial Restaurant (revolving restaurant on the top floor of the Westin)
-Max's Pizza
-McCormick & Schmicks
Upscale Dining/Buckhead
-Chop's
-Bone's
-The Palm
-Del Frisco's
-Maggiano's Italian
Getting around
Atlanta is a driving city. MARTA is O.K., but not all that great. I highly suggest getting a cab or downloading UBER on your phone and using it. There will be more cabs than you can shake a stick at on NYE. If you are looking for cabs after/before the game near the Georgia Dome, go to upper gate D/C near Philips Arena.
Have fun, and a Happy New Year!
(Side note, I have 4 club level tickets available in low rows + parking pass if anyone is interested).

Going here Friday
Don't forget Fogo De Chao! $50 and it's a brazillian steakhouse where you get the red and green cards and they load your plate with beef. If there is a heaven it most certainly is catered by Fogo.
There's also the Vortex for a burger a little outside of the city and you gotta hit the varsity. Just watch out for pissant Tech fans, they're still a little sore from their most recent bro beating
Get 2 chili dogs, fries, and an FO. You're welcome

Again, thank you for signing up for The Ewe, and thank you for your interest in our shitty town!
Hope you have a slightly less impoverished than usual Mississippi Christmas!

I am not saying you can't work/get a job in College Station. Just that there would be nothing to do in your free time.

Yeah, because one of the largest cities in the US isn't an hour and a half away. I practically lived in Houston on the weekends in college.

Where does it say you have the most construction per square foot? That was all I asked for....

Only an hour and a half huh...strong selling point. Also saying you are close to a city with things to do isn't exactly proving that there are things to do in College Station.
