I'm an LSU fan and graduate. For you people who call Oxford a hick town are really stupid or have never been there. It's not a hick town by any means. Hell, Baton Rouge with their holier than thou Baptists and their anti liquor laws are more hick than Oxford. I've been to Oxford numerous times and it is anything but hick. To me, Oxford is the illustration of the old South. The city of Oxford is very pretty and you feel like you went back a hundred years. Oxford represents to me what the old South must have really been like. That town has many beautiful buildings and old homes. The town in Louisiana that reminds me a little of Oxford is St. Francisville and there is no way in hell that you can say that St. Francisville is not a pretty town. The Oxford natives that I met are not in anyway hicks. Even though Oxford is a relatively small city, the people who actually reside there don't act country at all. If anything, Oxford appears to me as a place where a bunch of people with money in Mississippi live. I never had the impression that Oxford was a hick city. As I previously stated Baton Rouhe is more hick than Oxford. Believe it or not, BR is actually far behind Montgomery as far as laws such as selling liquor are concerned. Other than the accents up here, I find BR to be more country than Montgomery. Being a native of New Orleans, I always found BR to be a city with small town backward ways. If the laws in BR aren't backward and hickish, then why don't you think any big name bands want to perform there? It was the antique laws of BR that crushed Catfisn Town right after it opened. People were appalled to see people walking around in public carrying a can of beer not to mention having to witness the few open concerts that were held in the middle of Catfish town. For the people to call Oxford a hick town only need to look out of their own back door. Next time a vote on liquor comes up for the populace of BR, one only needs to go to churches such as Parkview Baptist and you'll see why BR has so many antique laws.

I'm starting to wax nostalgic about the good ole days when it was the Arky fans that were obsessed with us. Now it is the Purple and Yellow Faithful, the Gumps, and the Starkghanistanians that can't breath with having an anti-Ole Miss thought.

We certainly you miss you, Sisters of the Swine. I actually think you were a step up in class from the obsessed dimwits that attack us on a daily basis now.

When the hell do Alabama give a damn about Ole Miss? I don't see any topics on Ole Miss being started by Alabama fans.

This. You can tell who your real rivals are by how often they bring you up out of nowhere for no reason at all. Bama, Auburn, or any team in the east never mention OM unless something of revelance has occurred. And for those LSU fans who don't consider OM a rival you sure mention them a lot

The SEC should just let OM hand the 2009 Baseball Championship Banner.

It was their first time winning the SEC in a major sport since the 70s. It may not happen again for 20 plus years.

This describes most Ole Miss fans:

https://www.mayoclinic.com/health/narcissistic-personality-disorder/DS00652

Definition
By Mayo Clinic staff

Narcissistic personality disorder is a mental disorder in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance and a deep need for admiration. Those with narcissistic personality disorder believe that they're superior to others and have little regard for other people's feelings. But behind this mask of ultra-confidence lies a fragile self-esteem, vulnerable to the slightest criticism.

The banner is funny, but it's more amusing that individual Ole Miss fans were being called out in the thread as if they hung the thing themselves. I'm sure they went to Kinko's and had that printed up. They then snuck in and hung it. Fortunately no one has enough desire to remove it.

Let them keep putting up their banners. Kind of funny being the co-champions, but staying home from the CWS, and Arkansas going.........
