Coach Bryant with Don Hudson. Mr. Hudson is widely credited with making the WR position what it is today. I think he still holds 10 or so receiving records in the NFL.

Rupert Colmore. Sewanee's only All-SEC player,1936. Also named to various All-American squads as a tackle in 1935 and 1936.Earned 9 varsity letters at Sewanee in football,basktball and track.

This is Big Spur, SCs mascot before Cocky, at a baseball game. I think they were really trying to get it to look like our logo or something.
was tall as hell though.

1941, Vanderbilt head coach Red Sanders and his young defensive coordinator, Paul W. "Bear" Bryant. Bryant was "acting coach" the year before vs Kentucky in a 7-7 tie. Vanderbilt went 8-2 in 1941 and Sanders was named SEC AP coach of the year. Only time as a coach Bryant 'beat' Alabama was with Vandy in '41.

Sanders went on to greater fame at UCLA and is credited by many to be the original quoter of "winning isn't everything,its the only thing"
