Austin is overcrowded, with terrible traffic, and hobos living on the sidewalks. It is far from paradise .. but better than Oklahoma
Good thing not every one likes the same things. You could not pay me to live in Oklahoma, or Austin. It some like it

tell what Oklahoma brings to the table. Fact is Oklahoma sucks, and without them Texas would fall off into the gulf. Well there’s that but they will also bring a world of arse whippings to the SEC. Aggy can run but they can’t run fast enough. You don’t have time to worry about tourism when your getting tagged 77-0. So yes that Trail of Tears will exist. poor aggies
So, your best hope as a Longhorn fan is if you rival stays really good and beats your non-rival?
Mmmmmkay pumpkin. Whatever makes you happy inside.

Nothing in Oklahoma can even sniff what the southeast has to offer. OKC is a boring wasteland, and Tulsa is a white ghetto. No thanks.

I lived in GA (Augusta, Columbus), Alabama (Ozark, Huntsville), Virginia (Richmond/Petersburg), have stayed all over Louisiana and have fam in Arkansas. I’ve been all over the south.
Virginia is hands down the coolest southern state I’ve ever visited and if my roots weren’t in Oklahoma, I’d retire in VA.
I enjoyed Alabama and the people were pretty cool, closely followed by Georgia. ATL is cool, Savannah is worth seeing once, Augusta is super close to Columbia.
No thanks on Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas. It’s cool visiting Biloxi, New Orleans, and Louisiana culture but I could not live in any of those states.
Memphis and Nashville are worth the visit. I’m on the fence about Tennessee.

Again, you’ve never been to Oklahoma, if that’s your mindset.

I've driven all through Oklahoma. It's a complete butthole with nothing going for it. Crappy real estate, casino's, meager looking women, yikes.
I'm not sure how it ever became a state.

There’s nothing special about College Station.
I earned my masters at Univ of North Texas, I’ll take Denton and DFW over College Station hands down. I’ll for sure take DFW over Houston and Austin.
Texas property taxes will get you down here. Oklahoma has much cheaper land, cost of living, better lakes, and less traffic. Each have their pros and cons, there’s for sure things I like about Texas and I’m 100% Okie, but Oklahoma can hold its own.

If traffic and high cost of living is your thing, Austin is for you. Otherwise, I’ll gladly drive through that city enroute to San Antonio (after I beat the traffic of course).

West Texas and the TX Panhandle are both a desolate dump. A lot of your fellow Texans cross over to gamble. Some of the best real estate in the country. Damn fine looking women. Texas has Dallas. That’s about it. San Antonio and Houston are meh.

If your state didn’t participate in some form with the confederacy then you can’t be a SEC state. Oklahoma was an Indian territory at the time LOL

When did I say there was?
It's within a couple hours drive from all those cities... which are all better than anything in Oklahoma.
And Denton? Lmao. Talk about another craphole. I live in Uptown and Denton may as well be Oklahoma.

what does Mississippi have
Well Mississippi is around 4th in the U.S. by casino gambling revenue. Mississippi tourism generated almost 7 billion dollars in 2021. The coast accounts for about 14-15 million tourists a year. That's roughly Destin, Pensacola, Orange Beach, and Gulf Shores numbers combined. The coast offers quite a lot besides casino resorts if you know how to explore. From seafood, museums, parks, to breweries, art exhibits
and 300 years of local Spanish, French and Native American history...plus Civil War. There's also limitless saltwater and freshwater fishing, boating and canoeing.
Here's some pics of the MS barrier Islands and coast.

I'm pretty sure that damn few Southerners want to spend much time in the bent Pacific Northwest either.
