That is going to be a fun game to watch and Oklahoma has not seen a defense like georgia.

Baker Mayfield is incredible, but with a month to prepare Georgia's linebackers probably cause him to struggle a bit early.

I say this needs to be a 30-28 type game if Georgia has any chance of winning.

Reasonable. OU definitely has the better offense and I'm not sure our defense is up to the task. Baker Mayfield is an extraordinary QB. He's the kind of player who can take over a game and can will his team to victory. I guess will find out soon enough if we can match up with them.

Would be surprised if it doesn't move to Oklahoma -6.

I think it hinges much more on OU’s ability to stop the run than on UGA’s ability to stop the pass. If OU is able to stop the run, I think they probably win easily. If they aren’t, it becomes a much different game.

It has moved toward UGA since it opened. ESPN even made a comment about it during the show.

OU's defense is terrible, and they can't stop running QBs, but their scoring efficiency is through the roof. Once they get on a roll, their defense just needs to create a turnover or two, and the rest of their defensive suckage doesn't matter. Watching Baker reminds me of watching JFF. On third down, he always makes a play.

Very surprised, thought it would be OU -6 or so.

Vegas must like UGA or not trust OU's defense at all.

UGA is going to cream OU. OU couldn't stop Big 12 offenses so they won't have a chance against UGA's offense. UGA is much more physical than any team they've played this season save Ohio State who isn't that good. Chubb and Michel both go for over 100 yards in this game easy and Godwin is going to eat.

When UGA was able to get Stidham to move his feet, the Auburn passing attack stalled.

That is a d'uh thing to realize (pressure leads to lower efficiency).

If UGA can pressure Mayfield, then there is a chance. But given a settled pocket, I don't like our chances of getting our defense off the field. Maybe if OU is too efficient, we can wear their defense out instead of ours.

A hot offense can win any game but defense wins championships. After a month it's usually the offense that is rusty so I give the nod to UGA. But, it should be a great game.

Defense hasn't won a championship in years. Elite QBs win championships. Stop regurgitating old memes and check the record.

FWIW...

quote:

Under pressure - Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield has been cool, calm and collected. He's completed 35-of-71 passes for 618 yards, 8 TDs and just 2 INT on 100 pressured dropbacks - the second-highest passer rating under duress among draft-eligible QBs.

I would say the Big XII's idea of "under duress" is not exactly the same as what we see in the SEC, but... the stats are the stats. It's going to be a test at least.
