The Division I Committee on Infractions on Wednesday announced that Tennessee failed to monitor its men's basketball program and the penalties include a show-cause order for former head men's basketball coach Bruce Pearl.
The show-cause order means that Pearl is prohibited from engaging in recruiting activity for three years at any NCAA member school. Any school wanting to hire him must go before the NCAA to explain why and could face penalties.

Did he really accomplish more than Mark Gottfried did? I think he was more consistent, but when it's all added up, he had one SEC regular season title and an Elite Eight appearance. Regardless, the laughter is due to the fact that he has a show cause and can't coach for 3 seasons. Nevermind the NCAA problems he would bring.

Would be hilarious. As someone said, if someone tries to hire him before August 2014, the NCAA will sanction them to the dark ages.

He's a risky hire just on the surface. I didn't realize what all the NCAA penalties entailed. Any AD that made that hire would have to hate himself, the school, and the fans.
