Of course, Drebin… good point, and you are right.... It happens all the time. And also, you would have to be blind to not see he had possession of the ball.

It's weird that you think all of us are murderers, then talk trash on the Internet to those of us with actual computer backgrounds.
That said, the only killers I personally know are Oklahoma, Okie State and Arkansas fans. (Seriously - I worked for a year at an Oklahoma medium security prison.)
Want to wager money that there are no Auburn fans serving time in an Alabama state prison for murder?
And didn't you guys kidnap someone recently?

I'm going to cash in the kids' college fund and put it all on LSU to cover
Don't do that, because many times it will come back to bite you in the derriere. Remember, thes kids are all 4 and 5 star athletes and I have the same feeling about this game as I did Clemson-LSU.... It's really a toss-up. I thought OSU had all around better talent and LSU has the superior passing game, but, regardless of what you think of him, Dabo is a super coach who surrounds himself with the best coaches. I really can't say that about our team. Their ok, but not at Clemson's level in coaching.

LSU is playing the weaker of the two teams in Clemson

The targeting was blatant as well
I strongly disagree with this. it was targeting, but it's just what happens in football sometimes. he came in fast, Lawrence dips down, at the last minute he instinctively lowers his head. with the rules they are trying to limit these kinds of dangerous plays, and I have no problem with that. it was the correct call. I just don't think this instancewas dirty or intentional. the rule is there to make players and coaches change the whole technique so this doesn't happen.
but still, football happens.

But I don't expect you to be in this situation.
if you listened to the rules expert talking about slo-mo on reviews, (and I know they don't always get it right), he said slo-mo had it's place, but on this type of play you had to make a judgment in real time.
in slo-mo it was clear it was a catch and fumble. however, in real time he never had clear possession. i'll grant you it was close, though. if they had ruled a catch and fumble, I would still disagree but admit it was pretty damn close. whoever loses the call is going to feel shafted - football!

I don't know that it was blatant. Blatant infers an intent to me, and I don't think it was done with intent.
It was textbook targeting though. Forceable contact to the head/neck area with the crown of the helmet.

And my point is- it would have been ruled a catch at the sideline because he had the ball in his hands with at least one foot down inbounds. Once he took that second step (even if it's a stumble), it would have been considered a completion of the play.
There shouldn't be two different standards because one occurred in the field of the play instead of at the boundary. It was an obvious, obvious catch and a royal screw job.
But hey, it's Ohio State, so I'm glad they called it the way they did. But if that had happened to your team or my team, we'd probably still be throwing shite.

REC obviously in action. Apparently they are passing Clemson on to us to slaughter???? Otherwise, I don’t get it

what if he fell down and lost control. even going out of bounds there is a continuity of play. the play wouldn't be over just because he stepped out of bounds. I think it would be the same - a judgment call. and the loser would feel he got the shaft.

No what-ifs. I'm saying if the exact same thing happened and he got one foot in-bounds before stepping out of bounds with two subsequent steps and then having it knocked out of his hands...it would have been ruled a catch.

Which is what the ref on the field did and he overturned the call made on the field.
If that play is in the endzone is it ruled a touchdown? I believe it is. If it is then on the field of play it's a fumble.
On to next year.

The Ohio st player led with his head which is what the rule is designed to stop. Whether Trevor drops or not is really irrelevant IMO.
It’s unfortunate for them because they did have us stopped there.

‘ The buckeyes were the better team and they didn't finish. Go Burrow, just please beat Clemson’
JK Dobbins was amazing (hated the drops for him), but as for the rest of OSU? They just got beat in the second half by a team that started working out the kinks. Lawrence > Fields and that was enough.
