Still did the tuohy’s actually make that much money from the movie?

Sean probably makes more money selling tacos in Memphis each month.

The Tuohy's sold the rights through the conservatorship

The weird part is there is apparently a document that Oher himself allegedly signed that gave all rights to the movie company.

That one he does not recollect signing.
But it would be unnecessary with the conservatorship. It sounds like the production company adding an extra layer of protection from a lawsuit today (due diligence).

I didn't read the book (obviously).

Is the tone to Oher the same as the movie?

The book is much better.

I appreciate your candor.

When you watched the movie, did the Michael character match the character in the book?
Am I wrong assessing the character in the movie as slightly better than mental retardation?

My "fricked" comment is if this goes to a civil trial with a jury.

It has MSJ written all over it, which wouldn't get to a jury

I have no idea. But while he had them I don't think he did too badly. (Some quick research shows he's sold off about 90% of his fast food operations -- at one time they owned about 115 restaurants).

He also admits that they said it was the same thing as adoption.
No proof of that other than his word. The Tuoys could come back and say they did explain it very carefully to him. And then it’s he said she said with the only evidence being the signed paper

In the ESPN article it quotes him saying he knew it wasn’t adoption. People don’t read

Thanks.
You may be right.

The "no comments" from the Tuohys may be evidence that there is a potential dispute of claims.

But who knows. They are obviously much better lawyered up today than Michael Oher was at 18 years old.

Sounds like it would have SOL written all over it too (Statute of Limitations).

You also left out when the future high school senior was told that it was the same as adoption by the Tuohys

hence an MSJ...as a matter of law, Oher wouldn't be entitled to relief due to the SOL for his claim

The conservatorship is still active today. I presume residual checks from media rights are as well.

the clock doesn't reset every time a new check clears. It would go to the date of the actual alleged fraud, i.e. the execution of the conservatorship or when Oher knew of the fraud involved in the same, which he himself has said was at least in 2011 if not before
