Nah

We can't guarantee your physical safety. Too much of a personal injury liability.

aggy loses either way.
Daddy vs StepDaddy.

LSU gets a huge win or Texas does.
Either way aggy remains behind both universities.

My point about aggy.
Nothing has changed.

We left.

The conference REALLY sucks now.

Your point is stupid.

You're stupid.

Aggies go from one conference to another. Both conferences are worse for the trade.

Hmmmmmmm...

LSU will manhandle Texas like they did Oregon in 2011. They will be bigger and faster

Chip Kelly and what Tom Herman/T Beck run is completely different.

Texas on offense is closer to what LSU sees with Dan Mullen when he was at Miss State and now Florida.

I think Sam Ehlinger is a better version of Nick Fitzgerald

If LSU can perform as well as Maryland did v Texas last year, 34 points is a no brained.
LSU's O line is a tad bit better.

This thread turned out exactly as expected.

Does the UT fan that keeps bringing up UGA realize that LSU also beat the frickshit out of UGA? (And in October, not some meaningless bowl game)

Main reason LSU is better at safety

Grant Delpit - safety - all american -best defensive player in all of college football

some other reasons

Jacoby Stevens, Todd Harris, Eric Monroe plus incoming 5* Marcel Brooks and 4* Tennessee mr football Maurice Hampton

Y'all really don't see whats coming do you?

LSU Football is about to start a five to seven year nap this season. Alleva left the AD with some crippling issues & Orgeron's program might be the biggest inferno of them all.

Getting soundly beaten in Austin is where the bad dream starts. God bless the fools who actually thought some room temp IQ goon like Orgeron wasn't going to run things into the ground.

Maryland showed in two games last year they can play with Top 10 teams.

The issue for Texas last year was filling the gaps.
LSU fans should know about Matt Canada. He will run through all gaps at all angles because of the OL.

LSU's run game is much different.

That game really doesn't make a difference with this one.

No one knows what is coming.

I think both teams present a huge challenge to each other.

LSU because they can play man coverage and take away the QB power.
Ehlinger's run game only works if the safties play over the top of the WR.
LSU has the CBs to lock down Texas' WRs potentially.

On offense LSU has the weapons to threaten Texas' young CBs.
Potentially can wear out Texas if Texas has trouble moving the ball.

Regarding Texas
Their D can stop LSU from running the ball.
Traditionally Todd Orlando has been very good at shutting down the run game in big games.
This has been for 4 years.

This will force an offense not comfortable moving the ball through the air to be in 3rd and Long.

Defensively
Tom Herman/Tim Beck are very much like Dan Mullen
They all have that Urban Meyer connection.

Dan Mullen has traditionally caused trouble for LSU as Florida OC, Miss State HC and Florida HC.

Texas couldn't stop my grandmother from running the football. Too soft

Safety is actually the most comparable of positions in terms of elite talent.

Texas and LSU both have elite players at the position. I think Delpit is better right now, but Sterns is an absolute stud.

Todd Orlando at Houston completely dominated Jimbo Fisher and Florida State.

Reason why Houston beat Florida St in the Peach Bowl was because Florida St couldn't run the ball.

This game pretty much will be determined by this because Herman and Texas should find a way to score some points.

Don't know where LSU is at on special teams.
I think special teams is a strength for Texas.

Field Goals/Field Position could determine a lot.

Kicking, probably. Punting, ehh...

And Texas is fine defending rushing teams, as long as they don’t run jet sweeps. WVU and OU dominated Texas, but they were really solid against everyone else.

In the first game Oklahoma's outburst was based on confusion in the 4th quarter based on Kyler Murray.

Texas did a better job than probably anyone for 3+ quarters especially in the second half but Oklahoma exploded for 21 points in 8 minutes.

The second game was Texas let them get the lead and Oklahoma was a much different team with a lead.

WV was based on Brandon Jones plus Will Grier.
Grier is going to be a great NFL QB.
Jones was injured but some of those throws made by Grier were NFL level.
This opened up their running game and other plays because Texas had to respect their vertical passing game.

Same with Oklahoma State.
Texas had to play with their safties back.

Both teams went vertical on Texas.

I saw where someone said that Texas is better against those teams.
That is so far from the truth. Texas is much better against teams who want to put themselves in a box.

Ultimately Texas wants the DB to put teams in a box but some teams do that to themselves and it benefits Texas.

Completely agree. Texas is so much better defensively against the run when a team isn’t completely spread out. Texas did an awesome job against ISU, UGA, Kansas, and K State (although I don’t know how good they were at rushing the ball).

Those are different offensive styles than Tech, OU, Baylor, etc.

And Texas was even really good against Ou the second time around.
