Well I guess coach Lolley needs to go public and say BC is a liar because he did offer BC money. Is that what you want him to do beaver?

Damn, I bet that kid had a TON of pressure to go to AU - His HC (Goodwin), and even Goodwin's son put the pressure on him along with AU coach Lolley. All with Demopolis ties???

Goodwin is a good coach in a bad situation, I was surprised he went on record with Lee about this situation. He initially declined to make any statements about this to several people because he wanted BC to go to college and play ball. Most HS coaches don't care about a team they care about their players making it to the next level and having a chance to do something. Several statements of Alabama's first press release on this were not consistent with the facts, it will be interesting if there is anything else up Lee's sleave. This was not unexpected, to throw Goodwin under the bus, but we shall wait and see.

I'm sure the poeple in Homewood are very happy. They are stuck with a shady coach and the Birmingham Auburn Alumni group didn't even get their player.

I could see Goodwin being upset about the whole thing if he thought something shady had happened but it seems odd that he and his whole family now refuse to speak to Brent. That seems to indicate that he thinks Brent wasn't some kind of innocent pawn in the whole thing. Or he's just a rabid Auburn fan that was pissed off about Bammer taking their recruits.

Its amazing that this is even a story at this point. The one published article about the whole thing (which didn't even delve into the mortgage issues) was written by a huge Auburn homer, a guy who is thought of as a hack by large sections of his own fanbase, and sourced two Auburn fans.

Where does it look like that since he said it didn't happen? Is he a complete liar or not?
Hey don't ask Hunter that question he only likes using info to improve his argument against Auburn everything else no matter how logical is insignificant...

To be fair. Every single thing that has come out against Auburn since November has come from outside the state of Alabama and been on a National scale, with the exceptions of the Felony Four and the Eric Smith arrest. The only thing that has come out against Bama has been from an Auburn beat writer, on the word of an Auburn booster and ex Auburn grad. Yet the large majority of Auburn posters and fans blame Bama for Auburn's woes. I may have commented on things, but Auburn is going through what they are, because of Auburn and the shite being slung now at Bama, is also Auburn's doing. Bama had it's share of it's own doings with Means and I don't blame anyone but Logan Young and poor management when that happened. Perhaps Auburn folks should look hard in a mirror, instead of blaming Bama and it's fans for what's going on right now. Tell me how any of the following is Bama's fault or their fans' fault.

1. Cam story - broken by Bama?
2. Eric Smith arrests - broken by Bama?
3. Felony four - broken and bribed by Bama?
4. Continued dismissals from team, short on scholly - Bamas fault?
5. Auburn players posing with gang signs and cash - Bama's fault how?
6. Ex-Au grad, Au writer, Au booster levelling what appears to be false accusations against a high schooler - Bama's fault how?
7. NCAA looking into Au in Louisiana - Bama's fault how?
8. Cecil admitting to shopping Cam - Bama's fault how?

I don't know Goodwin. he may be as shady as they come, but I will need a different artist other than TideSports doing the painting before I start bashing the guy.

He's a shady coach, always has been, even back in his coaching at Demopolis HS. He was constantly accused on "recruting" players from around the area to play for him at Demopolis. But, hell he took the state championship and won it for them. So, the Demop folks love him for it.

His son Dustin played QB at Demopolis when they won the championship. Dustin went on to AU and coached with his dad at Russellville.

I also remember (+20 yrs ago) a Demopolis Asst Coach by the name of Phillip Lolley. I think he works with Chizik now, and he recruited Calloway.

Was talking about Goodwin being offered something for Calloway's signature. Not Calloway being offered something.
