Before this was announced, every Arkansas fan was throwing out ridiculous names (Gruden, Carroll, Sarkasian, etc.) about who was rumored to be coming. Then once it was announced, they change their tune and say they wanted an interim guy all along? Puh-lease.

Again you're going to promote a coordinator to assume the role of HC AND OC? Or do you make him the head coach then try to find an interim OC?

Normaly you dont go outside to hire an interim coach.

This is better than expecting one of the other coaches to pull double duty, especially considering none have ever been head coaches. The kids love him, he knows the goals/offense/defense/etc. As long as he lets everyone call their own plays, I'm good with it.
I agree with this. Yes I wanted to hire a proven coach now and not go the interim route. But this is a better interim than any one that was currently on staff. Smart move if Jeff was forced to make the interim hire.
