I despise UTa with the best of us ... but this thread is not a good look. We're better than this.

UTa and OU are good gets, huge additions to the conference.

UTa will be massively humbled in time. Both bring other sports to the conference.

With the addition of UTa and OU, the SEC should dominate 12-14 of the major NCAA D1 sanctioned sports. Total domination.

So basically you'd rather have teams you have a better chance of beating most years, got it.

OU is cool. They are SEC material. Texas no. Aggies yes.

Mizzou yes too.

Adding Mizzou certainly took some of the shine off of the SEC brand.

I agree pretty much. Houston might as well be the South though it’s gotten really international the past 20-30 years. I wouldn’t fight for them to stay though.

Texas, Oklahoma, and Missouri need to find somewhere they belong. It’s certainly not in Dixie.

Really?! Your sorry team lost to Mizzou.

I’d take WVU

We all know no one is going anywhere, but for argument’s sake, VA Tech is a FAR better fit than WVU. Virginia is a bigger, more populous, and far more wealthy state. And Tech isn’t that far from UT and UK.

I thought it was very clear and apparent that UT/OU to the SEC was a business arrangement with strong accretive value.

Texas is not a culture fit to the legacy SEC schools and the deep south in much of anything. Sports/Football is the closest fit to that, but even then it's not too similiar.

The power brokers, the presidents and regents, and those charged with growing brands and revenues loved the deal.

Us fans (of both parties, UT and the deep dumb south) are holding our nose and making the most of it, knowing it's smart business.

Aggys, on the otherhand, are desperate to fit in and their thirstiness and gayness about it is unsurprising.

Yes, and LSU vs Texas A&M should be the end-of-year rivalry game.

People dont realize that the rivalry dates to 1889 and there have been SIXTY-TWO meetings between thise cross-border rivals!

I love the rivalry, its been good for a long time. TAMU definitely belongs in the SEC, yell leaders or no they fit. They're a good addition and a sleeping giant if they ever get a good coach, think LSU before Saban.

People also don't realize that LSU and Texas A&M are both original land grant universities from the 1860's, along with our sister schools Prairie View and Southern the only ones from the states of Texas and Louisiana.

A team who has not won a title since 1939 is not a good addition to the conference that says, "It just means more."

Those 4 schools shouldn’t be in the SEC.

Funny how they don’t want to boot USCe or Arky. Guess it’s cause they like the W’s on check schedule.

Because we have been around since 1992. Not sure how that's incomprehensible to you. Most people posting here grew up with SC and Arkansas as part of the SEC... the others, well just a bunch of old curmudgeons that never wanted things to change in the first place.

Interesting. So in about 30 years, we can say the same about those who don’t like the TX OU addition.
